If there's to be any eye-brow raisers, then I'd love it to be Warnock.

What is not a cheap option ?
I am amazed that every name mentioned , gets dismissed as not good enough. We are a lower mid table league 2 side or fourth division in old money.

In 2020/21 Bristol Rovers had succession planning off to such a tee, that they got in three different managers.

    They still got relegated though.

If Sparks had got someone in immediately, you and others would be accusing him of rushing yet another appointment.

I wouldn't. I'd credit us for finally getting our sh1t together and having a clear plan.

I believe he's wanted too much money in the past, so not been considered.
Maybe he's lowered his demands now.

    Neil Warnock

Warnock said: “I’d bring back that haircut I had at York City. Look at me, I had all that hair and a beard. I can’t even grow one now. I’ve not even got eyebrows anymore! I still have a head of hair though

I might if we have some honesty from the club about our plans for the future and what as a club we are going to do to first turn us around. Demanding the long suffering fans should suffer it a bit more because it has been rubbish. Sorry they owe us an explanation. Then they can ask.

So you're fine with a repeat of 2018/19. Three different permanent managers and relegation. But at least we replaced them quickly

The McDonald plan has had two wins a draw and two defeats. It isn't have though we've lost five on the bounce.

If that's enabled Sparks to do what a CEO should do and that's have a rigorous interview process as opposed to falling in love with the first big name that he comes across (i.e. Adams and Hughes) then we should all be pleased with that.

So you’re not in favour of planning, ok fair enough. In my view that is why
we have arrived at this juncture.

I'm puzzled what explanation you want. And I genuinely mean this.

Our "plans for the future" is to get promoted, that's why Hughes was fired.

I'm a Director. In my experience, when it comes to a specialised role, ir can take weeks or even months to get the correct person.

Too many clubs rush in, far too fast and then wonder whey they're having four managers in a year (hello QPR!!)

I will be judging Sparks on this appointment only. I can understand the previous ones, but with hindsight they were badly thought out. Hence, why I'm pleased he's taking his time.
