Sears came from WHU Roger. I remember when they signed him. Their big tent signing in the local press, long contract at the time .Then went to Ipswich. He’s largely operated in Essex/ East Anglia

They sold Smodiczs to Peterboro, then he's gone onto Blackburn.
Doubt it's made them enough to fund their Academy for years though.

I think it's a bit harsh to say he didn't have a great time at Fleetwood. When he was mentioned a week or 2 ago someone else said the same but he took over a team that finished 20th the season before to 13th with a few very good wins including the double over Peterborough and 4 points from the games vs Plymouth. They also had a run to the FA Cup 5th round beating QPR and Sheffield Wednesday on the way then losing 1-0 to Burnley in the 90th minute. He had a bad start to this season with 1 point from 6 games but every manager at this level will have had a spell like that at some point.

You'd be hoping for a better start to the season after you'd spent money on this pair -

I agree with you. He did well last season and I had my eye on Fleetwood ante-post. Then the news about Andy Pilley broke. Although that didn't seem to lead to financial meltdown at the club, the circumstances can't have been the easiest to work under. He warrants another crack at management.

Having said which appointing him ahead of the Cowleys would be an unfathomable decision.

To be fair, the pair never started a game together because they weren't fit at the same time. Both were in and out the side until Johnson came in.

Fleetwood are ruined though, all their off the field crap has just caused a nightmare feel at the place it seems.

He also turned down Fleetwood last month. Wouldn't say he's got the credit in the bank in the lower leagues at the minute to keep turning down interviews?

Not sure the Cowley’s would be a good fit for us tbh.

Under McDonald the players have been given freedom to express themselves which has resulted in a marked improvement from several players who were previously under performing. Not only have results picked up, but we’re being entertained and the entire fan base are reunited after enduring years of dreary, turgid football.

To then appoint someone who plays the same negative football that failed miserably under Hughes would be a big gamble.

I hope that was a joke . Celtic are a fantastic team much better than Rangers . It’s nothing to do with Stuart or the Rangers connection. If the manager is good enough to get us out of this league then we should welcome them with open arms .

    Joke about his hair.
Not about him being ceptic scummer. Hardly tore up trees at Fleetwood since moving into management so would be a truly bizarre, scraping the barrel, choice.

if he’s the best we can attract then I’d prefer we give it to McDonald!

The Board need to seriously look at Kevin Mc. He has transformed the team. A short term contract. I am of the school of thought if it isn’t broke don’t fix it, or in our case no need to fix it again.

If we need more expertise bring in a FD of what’s ever title you want to give him as a consultant on all aspects on the football side. I would be more than happy with that, could even be part time if that is all we can afford.

KM in charge of the team with some one running D o F would be ideal
N o names out there likely to pull up trees

It really doesn't feel like there's any outstanding candidate for the job. It feels like we're having to go through the process to fit someone in for the sake of it. I think the board should be seriously considering leaving well enough alone, until we reach a stage where it stops working or its obvious that KMc needs a hand/replacing. It doesn't have to be anything official, just keep it rolling as it is, until someone we've identified as having the style and success we want to implement actually becomes available. It might take time, but the change we've seen under KMc has been fantastic. You just know there'll be a downturn when we appoint someone new. The team are playing for him and the results are coming. Why label or change it?!
