The Christmas market is always a good visit there. It took a lot of vision to get it to work and at first it was a struggle to sell it to a larger audience but the artists and bands they've had on there over the years has been of a very high calibre and most of them come away singing its praises as a very unique venue. When the wind blows right i can hear the music clear as day at my house, i could pick out the songs when New Order were playing.

It's bars and nightlife are really good as well outside of the live music events. It has it's own version of the Record Cafe in Loafers too, vinyl and beer!! Some great independent bars in Meandering Bear and Grayston Unity right on it's doorstep too.

Actually wasn't it the Tory council of the 70s who tore down the arcades installed mass concrete and failed to replace the industry we lost to overseas in the same way Leeds did? If we want to look at history and how we got here we can't forget that can we. It's not as though twenty years ago Bradford was a beacon of light

I think you're a few years out with that. Wardley and Co were way before the 70's
Saying that bfd was still a fairly strong city in the 70's, but the demise since then has been heartbreaking tbh and the reds will blame the blues and the blues will blame the reds. It's part of the reason progress is difficult, each side just cancels out the other with constant blame and counter blame. Never mind what's best for the city/country it's political point scoring that holds back progress and you even see it regularly on here where there's no middle ground with some folk and it's reflected in the leadership of the city/ country, it's depressing to see.

It's a great point because I do agree that labour have messed it up. The Tory's have said £2bil for Bradford rail as well. If that's true I'll take the dog from that MP and grab that cash

People running with left and right wing narratives regarding the demise of Bradford are completely missing the point completely. Bradford didn't decline because of a Tory Government or a labour led council, it declined because like most Northern towns and cities it lost the reason that made it big in the first place, namely prospective fabric manufacturers that made the city of Bradford what it is post the industrial revolution. But you can trace the demise of Bradford to as far back as world war one times. Fact is once those mill owners had gone to pastures new it was the beginning of the end. And because of its geographical location and also being right next door a better located city in Leeds, it couldn't reinvent itself as anything else other than a dumping ground for waifs and strays. No amount of money will ever change that.

No one is ever building a new station or new rail roads in the centre of Bradford. It would be a complete waste of money that could be better spent elsewhere. Or maybe not with this government or our completely useless council.
