Not checked it but someone said its our most shots in a game this season whilst also our lowest possession stats of the season.

Shows it doesn't matter how well you keep it, it's what you do with the ball when you have it.

 

Every player lifted it to a new level. Then Osadebe comes on and still looks like hes won a competition. Has he ever controlled a ball since joining us?

No effort to track back after losing it repeatedly

 

Certainly second half I thought our movement off the ball was very good giving the guy with the ball options, football really isn't a hard game to play.

 

Even Andy K on commentary upped his game today. Usually, he sits on the fence and hides from saying anything slightly controversial but glad to hear him calling out the backwards passing that Hughes obviously demanded and also calling out the subs for coming on and not pressing or putting in instant effort. Although, I thought Oyegoke looked decent in his cameo today.

Smallwood and Gilliead were both outstanding, as were the whole defensive unit. Pointon, if he continues as he is, will play way above League Two. We should have had two penalties and Cook on another day buries the headers.

Overall, for me, the best performance of the season. On a final note, credit to McDonald who instructed the players to get forward when they naturally sat back to hold the lead. 10/10 performance against arguably the best side in the league.

I didn't hear one bad comment on goalkeeper to defenders passing rubbish....

 

It won't be easy at Wimbledon next week they took a point at Mansfield, just apply ourselves as we did today.
