Looks like the piece of info I was given on Saturday was crap.

What was actually said was Hughes had failed to show in the dressing room and the players were speculating that he was with Sparks resigning/ being sacked. He probably was with Sparks, but being given the hard word and a final chance to get it right.

We move on to Tuesday, in which defeat must surely leave him with no more than one more game to save his job. I don't want to see us have to change manager again, but we are fast approaching the point where it becomes inevitable. The issue is how long do we go on seesawing between a half decent team turning up, winning and making us look like we;ve turned a corner, against a sub standard one turning up for the next match ?

As someone else has said, does Sparks have the bottle to sack Mark Hughes ? Surely failure in league two would be the end of his managerial career ? Not that he probably needs the money.

Why won’t he have the bottle? He is exactly the same as any other failing manager. Most clubs would have sacked him after the playoffs, not because we lost but the manner in which we lost.

After 20 months and 70 plus games I’d suggest that if he was n’t Mark Hughes he would probably already have gone. His status in history is the only thing going for him and that’s where he should stay, in history because he’s proved to us he is yesterday’s man.

Totally agree. He's still here because he is Mark Hughes.

But isn’t that the problem not just for now but from the past Hughes at 20 months us seen as long lasting.
Not just talking about Hughes here but Managers who have been successfull elsewhere just don’t get the time. Apart from Stuart nobody is given the time to build a team and allowed to make mistakes in order to get there. Hughes has been given a little longer than average and will probably be on his way . But sooner or later upper management are going to have to stand up to the baying crowd in order to get some stability.

It isn’t the baying crowd that is causing the problem. I just won’t have it, the crowd on Saturday would have been shouting Hughes name if he had set the team up to go after Walsall.

Just changed my vote. I was prepared to give him 15 games, but not now. Lose on Saturday and we could be bottom four.

Time to make this dinosaur extinct

    11 games in.

No idea what style or formation to play.
No idea who his best team is.
Recruitment is such a shambles that we have a wingback playing Midfield for us, and a sub so bad he is subbed back off.

Last year we were carried by Lewis playing out of his skin and Cook scoring out of nothing. Now Lewis is making mistakes and Cook isn't as free scoring and the house of cards is falling down.

I’m with you on that one. One on Oyegoke, he didn’t appear the second half except to gift possession back to Tranmere and I was screaming at 57 minutes for him to be dragged off. McDonald’s legs are gone and if Bruce Lee was watching he would have been proud for the penalty.

Tulloch was brought on and then subbed off for Smith who (someone correct me) didn’t have a touch of the ball.

The team/management and board has gone backwards and if it wasn’t for my love for the club I wouldn’t be turning up Saturday
