Just dreadful, started off well the first 15 - 20 minutes, but after the Walsall goal went in we fell to pieces. Heads totally dropped and Hughes didn’t have the answer. Even at half time the game wasn’t lost, yet we came out with zero impetus. Devoid of ideas and attacking intent. We could have played till the weekend and not scored. I thought we may have turned a corner after the Newport game, but seems it was a flash in the pan and we’re now back to the dreary dross of old. Only Macdonald and Halliday come out of that with any credit.

this despondent feeling after city games is now all too regular and change is needed.

unfortunately I have zero faith in the club to go out and get the right man, so a part of me feels there is no point. However that should not be a reason to persist with Hughes. He’s been backed to the hilt and can’t get a tune out of the resources made available to him. He needs to go now and we may salvage something from the season. With him here we are going nowhere.

Thought we looked like a bunch of individuals. No plan of attacking moves, clueless going forward. Defence all over the place. Another good day at the office for Hughes

 

McDonald was one of the worst offenders today. He was garbage. Only player who tried was Walker and Tulloch was OK too

 

Think Morais hit nail on head. Scattergun substitutions put in an unfamiliar formation smacked of desperation, not calmly thought through. That was a very worrying thing for me today, in the midst of plenty of other things to be absolutely hacked off at.

I was very surprised he went there but delighted the Cowleys are still available. It just (and it's a big just) needs the decision makers to go get them!.

 

Those two and Halliday for me. I don't think I've ever seen a side as static as we currently are in midfield

 

I was quite chuffed and excited when Sparky took over but despite my visionary rather than reactionary character I believe his 'magic piano' has failed and time for it to be cast out and sent to Woods music store for refurbishment - but I don't want it when it comes back. Time for a new tube , I say sadly once more .....

 

Watched a different game to me then. All opinions of course.

 

Hard to know what to say after that, seemed to totally lose any fight after conceding a soft goal. Sort of performance you usually see at the end of a tenure, but will Sparks pull the trigger?

It looked like we had all 11 in our own 6 yard box and we still conceded from the corner.

 

Brad Halliday was the best player by a mile, but naturally it made no difference.

Harry Lewis should hang his head tonight.

 

Their brand of football is awful but if they can make it work then we'll take it just to get out of the league

Has Morals got his coaching badges? He is far more articulate and enthusiastic than anyone involved at Bradford City.
