I think a few people got a bit carried away after Saturdays excellent performance against a poorly set up Newport team.

Middlesbrough are a Championship team.
Admittedly a poor Championship team at the moment but the players are still quality managed by a very capable young manager who got them in the play offs last season.
They’ve obviously lost their main strikers from last season but they beat a team on Saturday who were in the Prem last season.

All about getting players fit and being ready for Saturday now.
Beat Walsall and tonight will be quickly forgotten.

I agree Broncs... so were Wigan -Arsenal-Villa etc. etc we are not even competing here

 

Another mythos to take away the pain

 

Fully expecting us to lose tonight but it's the third round of the cup in front of a big crowd and we haven't even had a go. Boro will have had harder training sessions than this.

 

Men against boys. Move on and get back to improving our league position.

 

The worst part about tonight was flogging Cook for another 70 minutes. Absolutely bizarre.

 

Im sure people were getting mixed up between Afoka and Tulloch before. The latter, the WBA loanee, looks the more promising here and now, as they did in their sub cameos on debut.

 

Listening to the commentary it sounded as though some of the City players were thinking " it's only a cup we don't give a.............."
