Talking about legs have gone after today performance,didn’t anyone else think Smallwood looked beaten a few times for pace.Maybe it just me but in the second half I noticed the opposition players breaking quick and a couple of times it was Smallwood doing the catch up.(Yes the heat might have some say )

 

I know MH likes his experienced players, but you are right, Derbyshire, along with Smallwood and McDonald look like old men playing for us. All three of them look well past it now.

Hughes dropped him but should never have given him the captaincy back and certainly not in next game when he came off bench and first thing he did was go over to Stubbs and take it off him.

at least five players out including a couple covering fir others it was a good point. With due respect you have the same narrative every week the opposition were crap notwithstanding what they had done before playing us.
I said I didn’t enjoy the first half tactics but any team would struggle with our injury list.[

 

I'm not disagreeing but not many Strikers would have done anything with the service in that first half.

For 90% of it he never had a player within 20 yards and everything was head height.

 

Errrrr "we took the game to Grimsby second half" ....dont you mean we took the game to Grimsby for 15 minutes and got a few corners and everyone got so excited. That's a fair reflection. Yes we did play better second half but jeez we couldn't have been any worse. Truth be told it was a poor game and the quality on show from both sides was at best bang average.

Yes and two guys missing alone scored 40 goals plus last season. This is not a pro Hughes post it’s just a fact there isn’t a team in the land who wouldn’t struggle with that injury list
