I thought Osadebe had his best game so far, maybe it is about getting his head around last seasons horrendous injury, even playing sunday league coming back from a bad injury takes time, especially your first 50/50 tackle.

Take out your best two players that produce always (Cook normally) We did okay. Mansfield did not look too good either. On we go again. Cook and Pattison back soon ...

Even the Mansfield fans on their forum are pretty much admitting it was a match to forget.

2 years in, we should have a squad, system and mindset of being on the front foot and aiming to take 3 points, in every game we play. There should be a purpose and attitude to attack teams, create chances and score goals, that we're just not seeing. I'm 100% with @Rogered Tart@Rogered Tart on this. Being so meek in our approach play simply because we were without Cook, is piss poor. But its telling, partly because we set up that way most weeks anyway, and largely because we're seeing very clearly that without Cook doing something individually, Hughes system offers nothing. We finished in the playoffs last season because of Cook and despite Hughes (not because of him). And I can't agree @Offcomedun@Offcomedun, we had no purpose at all yesterday, even Hughes has admitted as much. It was completely limp. Its clear as day what Hughes approach is, and it doesn't work. And it's awful to watch, there's no excuse for it. Stylistically and result wise we should be doing (and expecting) much better. This will be another wasted season.

No Cook, no Pattison. In this case that is why so many would have settled for a point.

Winning or losing at Mansfield is never a key game in deciding whether we make the playoffs - it is all those home games when we squander points.

win at home, draw away (to good sides, beat the dross) and you will go close!

How exactly were we.ever.gonna win that game yesterday? I'm pretty sure.our club do their homework, they'd have known Mansfield had to put a scratch side out with players not being fit, I know we had our talisman out in Cooky but he hasn't looked like scoring this season. Losing Pattison also a blow but I genuinely don't believe it would have made any difference. It's all pragmatic.

This ain't one week Border, it's a good 18 months of never really having the balls to go out and really nail an opposition side.

If that's you your take on the club its really simple, don't renew your season ticket come next May, then you won't need to go through the trauma you put yourself through after each game, go and support a team that you know you'll come away from the majority of games with a smile on your face, maybe Manchester City are the team for you ?.

Mate, if you're going to debate at least do it with appropriate facts- both Oates and Quinn played in the Stockport match.

Oh I agree Roger. I have a problem with Hughes and his mentality. But for this week only I was happy to take a point from an in form side, missing our two best attacking players.

And they too were missing two of their best players and had a forward playing at right back. Just adding in those facts so there is balance in your post.

Does that change your view on a "good point"?

Having 2 players missing shouldn't materially stop you from being able to win. We shouldn't be that limited. It's not good enough, 2 years in.

Are you saying we didn't yesterday, I can't go along with that, on yesterdays showing they were two teams trying to win the game unfortunately neither were capable of scoring maybe because both teams tactics nullified the other.

Platt kicks/heads in to touch when its easier not to. It's his first option and is weird.

Its good to sleep on a result you find your not as critical as you were straight after the game, we got a point to a team who will be in the mix for a promotion place, I don't think that is a bad result, entertainment wise your not going to see it on a regular basis under Mark Hughes formations unfortunately.

I'm saying we didn't ahead either a threat or real sense of ambition Bronco. The same sense of 'I'd take a point now' that was shared by some on here was infused into our performance. And why, because we were missing 2 first team players? That'll happen in any given week. To create so little, to have so little threat isn't good enough and it's happening most weeks. It's a symptom of Hughes approach, and it's simply not good enough. The excuses are wearing thin. He's failing, simple as that. Massively underwhelming and the sooner we make a change the better.

It says something when our manager is ridiculing his own team by saying ‘we’d be on last on Match of the Day’ because it was so horribly boring.
Fecking do something about it then Hughes you boring prick!!
