Agree, when through on goal I thought goal. City win! However, it was poor, as was his pen.

If he’s carrying a knock he shouldn’t be starting this early in the season.

He isn’t going to score 30 goals this season and more than likely never again.

I just hope getting the contact he has hasn’t gone to his head but as I say I did like his overall all play.

Last nights result would maybe had been acceptable had we not blown it at Crawley and it's that defeat which could haunt us all season...

Plus missing a pen and a clean one & one chance.

A draw wasn’t an acceptable result and those that think City will be serious contenders this season have to understand that.

Of course a draw away to Stockport is acceptable. This isnt FIFA or Football manager. Win your home games and dont lose your away games. We have done just that this week.
We are 3 games in and have 5 new players starting in the first 11. I really do wonder how so many people dont understand the game.

Thought the draw was probably a fair result last night but we're probably happier with it than you are after the penalty save. It was certainly a more entertaining game than last season's when you visited. Not sure how much your team has changed from last season with regards to personnel but you didn't seem to be as big & physical as I remember from last year? Maybe that's down to your horizontal stripes rather than vertical ones though?:p Sorry to to say it Bantam's but that kit is hideous! I know rugby is strong in your parts but that kit is very rugby league, I kept expecting your players to pick the ball up & run with it!

You looked a lot more positive than last season & I'm confident you'll be right up there in the mix this season, we'll probably join you at some point when our manager stops pissing about putting square pegs in round holes & we get Wootton back or bring someone in (unlikely). At the moment it looks like we're intent on giving everyone the usual 15 point head start though.

    My take so far.
Lewis: Not himself at all, and some of the weaknesses on crosses, which we saw occasionally last season, seem to be proliferating.
Back five; A mess. Platt, Stubbs and Taylor can all play centrally, though the latter looks very weak and slow. At left centre back we have Kelly and Odusina who both look weak, though I'd certainly give Timi another chance. We have no one to play right centre back. Both right and left centre backs need pace, something we're sadly lacking there. Left wing back - no one. Right wing back - Oyegoke looks weak so far. Poor as a defender and offers little in attack. Gets caught far too far upfield and exposes poor Platt time and again. There were gaping spaces on our flanks last night, particularly in the second half when Oyegoke was too far forward and Ridehalgh wasn't far enough forward.
Midfield: Very promising. No complaints about any of them and the additional attacking intent there is very welcome.
The only problem I have is that we're playing 5-2-3 and when we come up against 5-3-2 we're outnumbered in the centre. That happened last night and it took Hughes half an hour to see it and bring Oduor back to bolster the middle of the park.
Forward: Cook's form is quite worrying. He's clearly unfit for whatever reason and looks to be carrying a knock. And he's still being again asked to play largely on his own up top. We looked more dangerous last night when we played with two up rather than three with two wide. The whole point of five at the back is that it enables you to have three in midifield and two up front but how we're playing negates that completely.
Smith I like, but we need more options up front to be sure.

So, we've fixed the midfield problem from last year but have the self-inflicted wound of a weak defence and an ineffective use of our resources in attack.

A lot of work still to do and we'll have to see how it all pans out when the season settles down.

Agree Idle. I was thinking that last night.
With Oliver out for some time yet, we need another No.9 to replace Cook if injured or out of form.
Derbyshire or Smith are not the answer and maybe it is asking too much of young Youmbi.

Jones' coverage smacked of 'my standards are higher than this'!

Oh please pee off with the go watch a higher standard team if you don't like it because I don't agree with your happy clappy views ..............the Man is making the same errors already just like he did last season .......... I can forgive them for not being good enough but I can't forgive a set up that continues to lose us points ............ I can guarantee that if we would actually went after teams after we take the lead then we would pull in a lot more points .............still on to Saturday no doubt of we don't win you will build Morecambe up as an amazing side

It did but towards the end it was coming across as more whining than constructive.n That said I'm sure we all wanted us to press and "squeeze" more

Before the match it is but when you see Stockport we’re there for the taking and we should have won it’s not.

You don’t understand the game yourself! Turn draws into wins is the key! You can miss pens and 1 on 1’s and then think a draw is a good result. Seriously! Have a word with yourself.

Jesus Gaz :joy: it really isn't that deep pal. One thing I certainly am not is a happy clapper lol, I am often on a crusade against the happy clappers! And in regards to MH - check out my comments after the Crawley game if you have time, I was seething. I will happily criticise the manager if it is warranted, last night he did little wrong. Stockport knew they had to have a go at us when we went 1 nil up, in front of a restless home crowd otherwise it would have turned toxic for them. We did exactly the same against Colchester on Saturday - did Colchester sit back and invite the pressure on, or was it that BCAFC knew they had to step it up as they were 1 nil down? Exactly!

Morecambe are out of sorts, a poor team under a very poor manager. I don't think I will ever wax lyrical about them

Excellent interview from Dave Challinor. Always one of the more fair minded bosses. Gives some perspective as to what the thinks is 'good' or 'bad' at this level.

It takes one of the best balanced comments to come from a fan of our rivals ;)

Yes. We are more confident - although if you read some of my fellow fans comments on here, you'd think we were a lot worse!!

I expect that both will be in and amongst the promotion race, come the end of the season.

I take it you saw the chances Stockport missed? They were unlucky not to get a pen themselves. They could have easily scored 2 or 3 so ignoring your logic of just looking at our chances missed then a draw was a fair result.

Strange that the Stockport fan on these boards think we're a tougher and more confident outfit that last year.

Challoner also has no issue with getting just a point against us - moaning that it's the dropped points in his first two matches that have annoyed him the most.

Did you watch us in 1998/99, when we were second bottom by late December? Goodness knows what you'd have written on social media then if has been around.

My take and word of the day is disjointed...... we look confused in some areas especially defence. Midfield all good and Tyler looks a great player at this level.
