Smallwood continues to massively disappoint.

 

Can someone get a message to Hughes that the round white thing is a football. Someone should mention it to the players. Nothing to be scared of.

First half I'd say him and Walker were probably our best two but second half I wouldn't say any have really done enough to stay on.

 

The lads had no thing to feed off and Hughes subs him your a joke hughes.

Interesting subs. No holding midfield anymore. Just defenders and attackers.

 

Maybe some logic to this. He's getting no change whatsoever, he's had an injury and we need him fit and firing for other games. Maybe the move to two different kinds of forwards will produce results.

A lot of seemingly entitled comments on here like "how can we lose to these", "we must be rubbish if we lose to these". They've done well. Played three at the back against our one (in Cook) and set up one of their three to man-mark Cook making us toothless. They've attacked purposefully and could have scored more than one.

Our team is weird. How do we go through pre-season saying "we only need to tweak the squad" and then have almost all the new players start the first game, changing half the team but seeming to play like a bunch of strangers? We can't blame all the lack of cohesion on Stubbs injury. Pattison needs to be further up the pitch. We're playing with one real central midfielder in Smallwood and he had about 5 decent games all last season.

It looks to me like Hughes wants to play three at the back, said he didn't have the players to do it last season BUT it looks like he STILL doesn't have the players to do it! Of course, we all already knew this....

 

It looks virtually the same as last season Cooks had no service today, what's the point of playing him if were creating nothing, Darbyshire offers more movement but you cant leave a guy who scored you 30 gaols last season out when your losing 1 - 0.

 

Without bias, if the referee is being consistent then that should be a red card for Halliday if it's a foul. He's rubbish for both teams
