With him being injured we might just get lucky for once. Hopefully any ban possibly received is able to be served during that time.

 

The problem is that cases like this have a tendency to drag on with time taken to put together the independent panel then schedule a hearing then the panel take time to decide their verdict. If it follows other cases like Trippier and Toney he could be back from injury before the verdict is given.

 

Fact is footballers are not allowed to bet or pass on any information that could lead to a bet, either in confidence or in loose tongue. They won't have charged him without substantial evidence that he has done something, so what ever it is it will be a slam dunk. It's no different to the T&A reporting anyone being charged with a crime. This may not be a crime, but it's some breach of rules & regulations and he should have known better.

 

Never suggested there was an excuse for his actions. Was merely pointing out there's a space in-between innocent and devious.

I never get the stance that they should absolutely always know better - I did all kinds of ill-judged things when young without any devious intent. Human nature eh. However, I still believe everyone is accountable and we learn from mistakes.

 

When you were young !! I'm still doing them and I'm old enough to be Chapman's dad.

Clark, 24, placed 312 bets on football games, including three on former club Accrington, an independent panel heard.

One bet was against Stanley, as part of an accumulator and for a low stake.

The panel suspended the ban as Clark did not benefit financially, the integrity of the game was unaffected, and he had also sought addiction help.

so with tony the long punishment was doled out because he bet on/against his own team multiple times

fingers crossed Chapman has not bet on blackburn!

Depends if he admits the charge or not and if he elects a personal or paper hearing. If he accepts the charge and elects for a paper hearing then it should be sorted very soon. If he denies and/or requests a personal hearing that will slow things down and you are looking at it dragging on into October maybe even longer

 

Take the hit chappers and move on. No point fighting it, it will be a slam dunk

 

Just seen that the Club via Twitter say the FA charges against him have been dropped

 

Excellent news. He can just focus on getting match fit now without the threat of a suspension looming over him.

 

Wouldn’t shock me if he reappears for 1st training next week.
