Normally decent defenders, coupled with pace are playing at a higher level and are hard to find.

Its either one or the other at L2. Im sure there are hundreds of full backs that can do 100m in sub 12 seconds but cant defend for toffee.

 

No it’s not, the same was alluded to last year, whereas our goal conceding weakness was set pieces as opposed to the defence being out paced. Only the Crewe away fixture showed that weakness you allude to , precisely because we were set up wrongly and our formation exposed too far up the field, leaving Stubbs outpaced.

Time will tell but I certainly ain’t losing sleep over it.

Our weakness was height I believe and it looks like so does MH/GH.

McArdle/Davies wernt known for their pace. Darby too. I suppose Mezza had something about him but that's only 1/4 in a very decent back line.

TBF I don't think Halliday is a slouch. He can move. It is ariel prowess we lack most in that backline.

 

No problem as I say it was from what I thought was a good source saying it was from Ryan himself, and no he's not a bar tender .

 

If it’s a loanee, then they will arrive back end anyway. I would rather wait than rush in with the wrong decision.

Yes but I did say two would be announced last Friday, my source actually qioted one would be from Brentford, but you could be right if it's a loan I would think the loaning club would want their player to get a full pre-seasons training with them.

 

I wonder if Charles Vernam was the player who was mentioned last week about a familiar player returning . Apparently he rejected an offer from us in favour of Grimsby.

Not sure what you mean. There was a never a credible rumour about Vernam so you can hardly call it hype.

 

The only thing we should be used to is ITK accounts that know nothing mentioning us as it gets the most interaction for them due to so many of our fans believing everything said on social media.

 

See Vernam has signed for grimsby today on a 3yr contract for an undisclosed fee.

Shame we couldn't bring him back.

Why oh why do some City fan's continually harp on about bringing back every Tom, Dick and Harry (and Charles) whos previously played for the club?!

 

In all the time vernam was at city he probably had 10 decent games and that's because he wanted to put himself in the shop window.

 

100% agree. I’m sick of the sound/sight of Vernam’s name!! He was ok for us, offered to stay, didn’t want to, fair enough. What did he do or has he done since to warrant some people’s burning desire to see him back??? Baffles me!

I’d much much much rather see Agyei sign - thank you Grimsby for removing any more speculation on bloody Charles Vernam! Is there an auto-redirect setting in this platform to move any messages with him mentioned to the ex-players section?? If so - please please action!!
