If we'd just signed an attacking midfielder who had scored 7 in 35, I think we'd be quite happy.

Injuries aside, his performance was okay last season, but not as good as his loan spell.

I'm expecting more this year, to be honest.

Maybe next season we will see him fulfill his full potential and then we can say he turned out alright.

Always good to hear comments from people who have actually seen players up live. Hughes does have us set up to play out from the back with both Stubbs and Crichlow comfortable with the ball at feet. Crichlow was also very useful for for covering balls over the top with his pace, something Stubbs badly lacks. Could be a problem if Stubbs is paired with Taylor as neither has any pace, balls over the top could be the go to for opposing sides.

Unfortunately not quite as impressive here in red playing for Walsall.

I look at this guy……….read the stats, the comments……..and think he sounds as though he is pretty much straight out of the same mould as Niall Canavan.

I think this signing needs to be given context.

The majority of our CBs are in their early 20s, isn't a bad thing by any means, But experience is invaluable at this level. We badly needed a CB who can be brought on to Protect a lead, can add leadership an experience to the back to see out games. Too many points were dropped in the last 5 mins of games last season

Alternatively, if we are to play 3 at the back, Taylor could provide the ariel prescence we need. That being said, a back 3 of Platt, Stubbs an Taylor is extremely slow. If a back 3 is the route that Hughes wishes to take, it could provide Odusina with a route back into the team. It was the system that Odusina looked the most comfortable in at Hartlepool

Moral of the story, don't judge a book by its cover. Platt an Stubbs is an adequate pairing for League Two, at least we have decent cover an it isnt breaking the bank, allowing us to spend money on more problematic areas of the team

He wasn't the same after his injury but hopefully pre season will sharpen him up again.

He was good when he first came but same story with injuries they never come back the same player as before. Hopefully he can pick some form up and get going again in pre season now he's started playing again.

Ash sounds a great defender for us at this level. Next a really good midfielder. Speedsters and a striker ta.

Good summary, different squad, different training and manager etc., some players play differently in teams. I will see after a few games.

Which begs the question why the hell have we signed him if he can not get in the starting 11

    Yes, it would guarantee us!

Sustainability is just another way of saying our owner isn’t spending. Clubs don’t get anyway without owners backing.

Throwing cash at our aims is exactly what Rahic did in 2018, spending on players like Akpan, Wright , Scannell etc and going 2million in debt to get us relegated.
