Honestly can't seen us getting another RB in. I can see one of FCD and Hendrie leaving but not both because I don't think we'd be able to get an upgrade on what we've already got.

 

Halliday is good enough . LB is the issue imho. No1 is the middle then LB in that order.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Smallwood's next club was a non-league team - not because he's performing at that level, but because of a combination of teams being put off by (potential) wages, hardball negotiations, and the fact he hasn't actually looked that good.

That's a really good comparison, both the same age, both played a similar number of games in the championship (Butterfield has actually played about 20 more). And i've been guilty to a large extent of saying he's championship player in league 2. He isn't he's now a league 2 player, playing in league 2. Doesn't matter what he did last year. Or the year before. It's what he does now. That said it would be nice if Hughes played him in his best role. Might get the best from him.

 

Central midfield is like a good marriage. get the right partner and it works, they become soul mates, get the wrong one and it ends up in divorce and failure. Clearly, Gilliead is the wrong "bitch" for Smallwood (apologies for what could be taken as sexist language - just used to emphasis a point)

 

Heard from my friends up in Barrow, that they are on the verge of getting Jake Young, don’t know if there’s anything in the rumour.

Same here,only I was really clever and could play left back as well.It's hard to believe there are pub players who can use both feet,and internationals who cant.

 

No i would rather have been a highly over payed movie star, even easier than having to run around a bit.

Yep, 40+ hours a week , for 50 years in the construction industry on pretty poor money, great career choice.

 

If there is something to it then Jake Young could be this season's Doyle to Swindon. Just watch him go and fire them to promotion if it's true.
