So you enjoyed a game where your own side was apparently 'shite'?

 

That's his job,the couple of mistakes he made could have cost us the game if the grimsby player didn't shoot over the bar end of first half and then lewis save his bacon for another mistake.

 

We are competing okay and we have Walker to come back too… other teams fans didn’t say we were any good last season so I will take that. Onwards and upwards.

 

I thought they played well allowed us to break on the counter but we wasn’t great. Shite.

 

Shite is getting beat 3-0 like we did under Bowyer or Adams. Today we came up against a team full of confidence playing good football. We can play better and will. But we weren't shite

 

We were frustrating and infuriating today but not shite.
13 points from 15 in last 5 games away from home is promotion form but we really must sort out the home form because that’s what’s letting us down and will ultimately prevent us going up.

Anyone who didn’t enjoy that as a fairly even game by two sides wanting to win, both NOT timewasting, NOT play acting …needs a head shake! Some people are bloody deluded . A point was deserved….by BOTH sides.

Agreed Kevin, I thought Grimsbys style was refreshing after some games this year. I Also thought Harry Chapman was excellent at times (as he was at Salford) though and from what I've read that's an unpopular opinion so perhaps I'm not the best barometer of the game.

 

Would have took a point before the game so all good ......... don’t get me wrong we weren’t at our best but points from two dodgy away games will do

 

I don’t get some peoples comments that we are relying on the saves Harry Lewis makes, he is employed as a goalkeeper and only doing his job, stepping up when needed.
It just so happens that Hughes made the right decision to sign him.
Up the Fxxxing Chickens!!

 

I wouldn't say its unpopular, my personal view is that we aren't getting any assists from him or Pereira which is their role in the team.

An interesting question would be whether we enjoy seeing them play well for 90 mins but no goal or assists or do nothing for 89 minutes but then create the chance for someone to score and we win 1 nil.

 

The "ter" are superfluous letters.

 

I think Chapman has been one of our best players this season. He needs to improve on his final product but his work rate off the ball is outstanding which contributes to our overall style of play. He's one of the first names on the team sheet for me.

 

I'm really positive about this season and any of you poor readers, will know I'm not always positive around this club.

A little bit more goals and assists from others in the squad is definitely needed but whilst we are not firing on all cylinders, we've lost 1 in 10 (Ali Campbell would be impressed), sit neatly in the play off positions, have the joint 3rd defensive record (scoring 2 against 2nd best Tranmere, whom are bang in form since we beat em) and have the 2nd best scorer in the league.

It's fine having a moan about individual matches but overall, it's a positive season. For those having a pop/bitch/wind up, remind the last time, we were in a positive position come the end of October

 

He is the first keeper we have had for a long time that wins and saves us points. Probably our best signing of the summer

 

Agree if that chance Chappy had early doors had gone in the game could have been so different, similar to his one on one when he tried to chip the keeper at home the other week, small margins but we need others to help Cook out.
I was a little disappointed that it wasn't Oliver who came on for Cook but it looked like Hughes was happy to take a point although both teams went for it right upto the final whistle.
