Do the club ever put on a roadshow or family fun day type of event, to try shift season tickets?

Young kids are easily pleased and you wouldn’t even need to invest much money to make it something families would attend.

I was at Ripon Racecourse a few weekends ago and they had some footy coach bloke throwing down a few cones and organising mini matches (like bees around honey swarming around the ball aren’t they but they love it) and there was a mini goal with holes you could try kick it through.

If City sent one of the keepers and did ‘beat the keeper’ and let the kids take pens, they’d love it. Give away those shitty teddies they had in the sales baskets in the club shop if they put it in top bins.

Could take the mini shop stand we have in the Sunwin concourse and set up a few tables like they do in Billy’s coup in the Sunwin and get Billy there for the little ones.

could have a few of the new players giving short interviews to the crowd or signing shirts and autographs - kids love that stuff.

Set up a little raffle to try win a new season ticket too, maybe one of the new Macron shirts, or shift some of the old clobber. Maybe even a stadium tour or chance to be a mascot - you know, stuff that costs nothing to the club but time and that kids love.

I dunno….maybe its a naff idea…..just think we’re at that point in the year now where parents are stuck for things to do and we as a club should always be looking to get the kids - the future generations - involved. We have a cheap product that is easily marketed - a parent can take two u11 kids for what, £250 for the full season? Great value.

if you shift a few hundred season tickets from it then It’d be worth it? Could tag it on to any of the summer galas all across the district etc coming up (not sure how long til price deadline expires).

If Mark Hughes turned up, hell, loads of fully grown adults would turn up for a chance to meet a PL legend.

suppose it is all cost/benefit. Tickets are so cheap we would have to sell loads extra to cover even a small investment for an event.

There's an open day pretty much every year before the start of the season, usually after the cut off date for seasons tickets though. I think this year they are still going to be on sale after deadline day but at a higher price. Maybe not a bad idea to have an open day 'sale' when season tickets are again available for the cheaper price for say, 12 hours?

Seems like the season ticket drive has been a bit more low key this year I suppose they might step it up as the deadline approaches

A heads up for others. I've spent about an hour trying to renew my ticket with 6 other friends and family. Lack of familiarity slowed me down inputting details for physical cards to match the relevant names and get the basket to submit changes. I somehow wiped the lot and had to log out and in again to restart. After finally getting the right details to match names in the basket and with the expected price, I went to checkout at which point it again wiped all my alterations. I then had to log out and in again to get the right format to restart. Practice meant I managed it quite quickly the third time. This time it went through when I went to checkout, checked my post details and proceeded to pay by credit card. That went to banking app verification on mobile which said ok, return to website and hit proceed - at which point I got no confirmation and it went back to a wiped basket. I now don't know if I've paid or not so will be calling down in person tomorrow to sort it out. Frustrated!

The banking app often does not flag a pending purchase for several hours. I have no confirmation email, though, and they are usually pretty much instantaneous. That suggests I have had all my inputted details wiped a third time when I thought I'd completed changes. I don't think I was timed out. I was quite quick third time. I seem to recall it said I had 36 minutes left before I would be logged out and 10 minutes to complete the payment stage. I'll be starting my 4th attempt at the ticket office. Thanks for the suggestions.

I have to say I called the ticket office, due to an error on my part. Previous "purchase" was promptly cancelled with accompanying email and new order, completed over the phone with new confirmation email.

Have to say, 1st class service at the ticket office. Maybe give em a call, if stuck for time or simple convenience?

If anyone is on pay monthly, you still need to renew as it doesn't renew automatically.

That’s good going the last two weeks too average around 1.5k per week when I thought there’d be a big lull before a flurry at the end. Should we get a big flurry as in previous years then we should now match, possibly even beat last years which would be a fantastic achievement although mainly down to the man in the picture I feel. He seems to be in most season ticket social media posts, smart.

    Thanks Rod.

I’m not sure how reliable some of the club “contacts” are tbh.

    Yes, absolutely.

Take last season for example. On the 26th June 2021, we had sold 8,419. By the 10th July, we had sold in excess of 12,700 - selling almost 2,000 ST’s in the final week alone.

To amass 8,200 ST sales almost 3 weeks before the early-bird prices expire, all without any key signings yet announced, is absolutely fantastic.

Once those players offered new contracts are announced as retained, the release of the kit coinciding with key signings are also announced, watch those sales surpass last seasons total.

I’m very confident of this, as is the club.

It doesn’t have to cost lots though.” Meet the player/ Manager/ staff” etc goes a long long way in embedding fans into the club?

What goes on “behind the scenes” could be a fascinating experience for many fans?
