    Most lower league referee's are average at best. This guy is just an arrogant arse, who thinks we have paid to watch him make the wrong decision. He is an i am in charge guy and won't be influenced by anything, even if i am totally wrong.
    Never liked the man after he got windass a five game ban, for apparently swearing at him in the car park after the game. They had been drinking together a few days before according to Deano . He also squared up to Allan judge, Ipswich player during the game against Northampton, for which he was charged.

    Just read his wikipedia page.
    He is a Rotherham united fan (SAY NO MORE ) and founder of the Chuckle brothers fan club.
    Last month apparently , whilst in charge of a the Rotherham match, he forgot he could yellow card a Rotherham player
    He blamed it on the fact one player was called Barry, which reminded him of Barry Chuckle. It set him on a daydream and he started to award random corners and offsides.
    How is this guy in charge of profesional sports men.

    Yes i do know, but i would not put it past Mr Drysdale with his past history.
    I am not sure if my memory is going, but he always seems to have a poor game when in charge of us.
    It just made me laugh when i read that bit as he refs like a clown.

    Talking of dodgy ref decisions and my fading memory. Steve Baines , who played for us, went on to become a referee.
    I vaguely remember him taking charge of or being linesman at one of our games at Valley parade in the early 90's.
    He gave us every decision that day. Definately in favour of the home team.

    Another nine straight wins and we could just make the playoffs. Need more soda in the whiskey.
    Its all about building momentum going into the summer and players who have not performed , showing they are worth another chance under a manager who will not crucify them if a pass goes astray

    So Port vale had sold approx 600 of their initial allocation of 1000, as of this morning , according to their fans.
    4270 home fans against Mansfield on Tuesday. Two teams apparently going well .

    After many years under terrible owners and one promotion in 30 years, combined with that shower up the road being in the greedy league for a few years, I think we do alright to average nearly 6000 at home in a city with a population of 250,000 and 2 teams. Our crowds have dwindled due to the dismal matchday experience over the years and the glory hunting kids that seem to be everywhere now.

    We never travel that well to Bradford for some reason, probably because it's the billionth time we've played you in the last 15 years. But we will still take 800 - 1000, which is probably a better following than 80% of this league.

    Should be a good game on Saturday, with 2 teams hitting their stride again. Whilst you don't really have anything to play for, the new manager has given you impetus and it'll mean your players wanting to impress. Start well and I'm sure your fans will respond and make life difficult.

    Our 2 main men up front have regained their fitness now after long spells out and Ben Garrity never stops in midfield and has scored 10. We're a bit vulnerable from set pieces or pace and we have a habit of conceding a cheap goal. We also lack pace generally, which is why I think we'll come up short this season. We haven't really got that game changer apart from perhaps Wilson.

    I'd take a draw and move on to be honest. Our next 2 games are against teams above us at home which will be more crucial to take points from.

    There's an obsession with some regarding other teams attendances. Always found Vale Park to be an intimidating place to go with a vociferous fan base.

    I was not being critical of your support, just pointing out to one of our fans, who questioned the clubs 1500 extra tickets sold in 24 hours tweet. How many you bring will be vastly more than most and should help create a great atmosphere.
    Thanks for the info and good luck for the rest of the season after saturday. We need a home win. Not had many this season , Mr Hughes has in a short time managed to instill a bit of belief and pride back in to the club.
