I know since you posted this Hodges has been announced, but I’m not getting the Wild love in. He’s done OK at Halifax but I’m glad it wasn’t him coming through the door.

 

With this appointment I just want to see progress, both on and off the pitch. The last few managerial appointments have been poor. I want to see spirit and desire, see players walk off the pitch and say to themselves, yes I gave it my all in that game.
As supporters we deserve this as a minimum.

 

Nothing to justify it yet but for some reason I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! Wish I could be at VP today, for those going enjoy and make some (positive) noise.

So Joey Barton is a top class player and top class manager?

 

I hope it doesn't all fall flat. Hes inherited a poor squad, with an awful defence and he can't do anything about it until the summer.

Let's hope a bit of extra adrenaline and feel good factor gets an extra level of performance out of the side.

 

Just caught the last minute of the post match interview. What a class act compared to DA.

He has a clear plan for the players in training this coming week. Lets see who starts V Swindon.

 

I have to say, for a person who has won umpteen cups and leagues and managed huge teams, I am really impressed by the way he has come in and spoken and just the general respect he seems to have for the club.

He has bowled me over to be honest. I've been so impressed with him so far.

 

Came across with real class and can I even say felt like he had an aura about him when he spoke. Unfortunately he’s not Jesus, so he won’t turn these stains into wine.

 

That's the problem. A class act, but working with poor players. I just want this season done, with safety secured, and a full rebuild in the summer.

 

Premier League manager with immense media training and, dare I say, media talent.

I'd expect him to speak very well indeed. Hopefully his manner works with the players, too, and he can lift them to perform beyond what we've seen all season.

 

I'd settle for him turning these "stains" into water!

Thing is Jon, he actually sounds like he means what he says. There is a sincerity and authenticity to him.

 

I still can’t believe he’s the manager. This is unbelievable stuff. He’s managed hundreds of games, all in the Premiership, and yet come to us.
I really hope he gets us up and running. If he can’t do it, then nobody can.

 

I liked the way he went to four or five of the City players and put his arm round them and spoke to them and the way he applauded the crowd.

 

Let’s be honest, The next few weeks and until the End of season there’s nothing much he can do about fitness….etc etc,Unfortunately the seeds are already sown…..But And A Big But, Now We Build for a future, With a manager that has football in his DNA……….

 

I wish I had seen his face when Theo skied one over…..again…..two minutes before he was hooked. Glad he hooked Daly too. That’s two weak links he’s identified in his first 70 mins

 

Daly has been really disappointing. Robinson, less so - but only because I expected nothing from him in the first place.

 

I haven’t seen anything to suggest Daly is better than Cooke. Absolutely nothing. Has anyone???!

That looked like a Trueman team today didn’t it. Hughes will barely know their names yet after three days

 

Yes, I think Trueman will have picked that team. Looked to be exactly the same setup as the Harrogate game. At least Hughes has a full week with them now.

 

Daly looked a really good signing on paper - but all I've seen so far is a very slow, laboured 'attacking' midfielder that doesn't really seem to pose a threat.

I'm sure he was scoring goals at Hartlepool, what's happened?!
