Chuck a load of players into a squad without any clear direction on how we are gonna play and hope for the best that they deliver.
Songo'o has played the majority of the season in defence, Cook has played the majority of the season by himself, We've swapped keepers 3 times, we persist with Watt who underperforms every week, we sign players who are not in form, we sign players who drop like flies, we change manager and recruitment structure every year.
Rupp needs to demote Sparks to commercial manager, get rid of Longo or other way around, keep Longo and bin sparks.
New CEO who has success at lower league level with other teams.
DOF with experience of lg1 and 2 football who has had a solid career or managed well in the past.
A young, hungry coach who the players can relate to, again someone who has had a good career and played at a decent level in the 21st century ( as for me football has moved on so much this last decade).
All with a clear blueprint of how we are gonna recruit, bring through any youth players and most importantly, implement a style of football that yields points whilst also wooing back the public of Bradford to the stadium and giving them much needed entertainment.
Even if this takes 3 years to bear fruit i'm not fussed.
If we finished 10th next season playing the same formation all the way through but giving teams games and creating chances whilst having excitement, mixed in with a bit of progress in the cups to bring in money, then so be it.
Follow that up by signing 2 or 3 decent players the season after and maybe a push for the play offs.
Then in the 3rd year with everyone familiar in what we are doing, playing style, plan of attack, some money to spend after a few cup runs then we go for promotion.
A solid base, a clear direction, a successful strategy.
Not spouting out claims of i'm a billy big bollocks and whilst i'm in charge you won't see mediocrity coming form the CEO and a billy big bollocks manager claiming he's effing god, whilst throwing 11 aimless souls out to the wolves.

 

Whilst accepting all our frailties and totally abysmal form, we have been weakened by the absence through injury of 2 or 3 of our better players..who could have made a difference. However so many muscle injuries are unacceptable and I think that our back room staff of physios, sports scientists and coaching staff should all be reassessed as to suitability.In fact anyone who has influence in our present trajectory, including those responsible for player recruitment should be replaced. It has to be a complete rethink overseen by qualified football professionals imo.

 

After all the extra training demanded by Adams why were the team blowing out their arses after 45 minutes? What exactly did Adams do with them all week.

 

He left the building last week. As for physios etc, I doubt we are worse than any other club in league 2. We have a poor squad and player confidence is non existent.

 

Sunderland…What have they got to suggest he can’t even get in their match day squad.? Terrific player.

Trueman IS part of the problem.

 

No it’s not…he’s used the same system throughout and hasn’t changed it even though the leagues managers sussed it quite quickly. There was a slight rearranging of the deck chairs last night but it’s still the same ship. He knows no other way as proven against the two sides we have just played. Points ZERO!

 

One main difference with Falkingham was he was their “ leader”, he was in all their players ears and faces all the game, irrespective of his own playing effectiveness . One thing I pointed out months ago, Jon, we DONT have a leader on the pitch anywhere. I thought that was going to be Songo’o at the start. That’s not worked at all. Canavan…meh, Paudie…..headless chicken.?

 

How many corners do we have to take this season before we realise we are doing it wrong with the worst set piece taker seen at the club in Watt, Also 3-5-2 is a suicide formation without 3 solid mobile centre backs and two quick fullbacks, Just hope that Sparks does not panic and make another wrong manager decision.

 

I certainly can't see us getting any points from Mansfiled although last night was far better IMO.
No excuses but when your team is missing so many players who would have started that has to be taken into consideration.

Looking at the injury list, our two “ main” centre backs are playing. That says a lot when neither, frankly don’t hold a candle to some of the bang average defenders in our division. Paudies temperament is a liability and Songo’0 isn’t a Romain Vincelot. That’s where we are despite a long injury list.

 

In his pre match interview Trueman alluded to the way they had been drilled under Adams as we know from his interviews it was his way or the highway, I would think when that is drilled into you day in day out to forget what's gone before can play a different way takes a while to adapt.

Cold muscles causing a strain due to a lack of proper pre match routine to stretch and warm the muscles properly is usual cause of soft tissue injury,

 

Last night City at last tried a more aggressive, more athletic pressing game. For a first work out it looked promising. It was better viewing. City were unlucky to lose and anyway some of the defensive errors might be worked on. Before we go anywhere let's see where this might take us. Right now a little patience might be the best response.
