Say what you want about him but he will not stand for mediocrity if he comes in. I’m that sick of losing I’d welcome it tbh.

He’d give them a rocket up the backside and soon sort out the weak characters to avoid them getting an easy ride until May.

The fans kicking off will change their tune when we are winning matches. Give him 18 months and see what happens….

Let’s be honest, We’re a bottom league side and we have been for decades and decades, Those that are from the Premier time , Enjoy it …It didn’t last!!, Now most of the time we are based in this area and we have always been ( Look us up), Managers and the team ( and owners) will change every year but 99% each year will be the same…

So as a business this company is run by LLP’s and LTD internal Companies……And this is the Problem… These people have a hand shake on a Saturday. While we ??,

What if, Steve Evans joining us , was to see the lay of the land so to speak for mcanthony?

If for instance Evans comes in and steadies us off, identifies what we need, sees how the club works, feeds back to macanthony who then decides to buy us, after cashing in his chips at relegated Peterborough.

Wild conspiracy theory, but also not out the question.

How does that swing the voting?

 

Putting aside his personality and past indiscretions (which I think will be hard given what happened with Adams), I don't want a manager who's hardly managed in the last 3/4 seasons and who has had little success in even longer!

Jesus wept, this obsession people have with McAnthony is truly bizarre.

 

I’ve long gone past caring about what Steve Evans has done in the past. I’m at the stage where I’d accept Colonel Gadaffi as manager if he could string back to back wins together.

But Evans recent track record is pretty poor. He’s another old school manager who’ll want do everything his way, and when we inevitably limp towards a lower mid-table finish and he gets sacked next February we’ll be starting from scratch yet again.

 

Yeah there's this really strange narrative that's developed around Evans: we might not want him, but he'll get us promoted.

Looking at it objectively, there's no more chance 2022 Steve Evans gets us promoted than, say, Woodgate, who has been involved in the play offs far more recently.

If that's the argument, it actually works against Evans. Hire someone we don't like, but at least hire someone who was successful recently...

 

Darragh doesn't need Evans sniffing around like some sort of snitch reporting back to his master when he's already best mates with Ryan.

 

If we appoint Evans then it would just show how desperate BCFC have become. The only plus would be he would most likely install some passion, but that is absolutely no reason to appoint him, so Rupp and Sparks - please dont

 

Darragh's popularity in Peterborough is fast fading.

I get that they'll be desperate not to go back down, and MAYBE they should have done better in recent years (surely they should be an established bottom half Championship team with their resources and the money they make from player sales?), but still...

Surprising.

Darragh has always said Peterborough isn't the end of the line for him and he would definitely buy another club. We have to be very high on that list, as our fans are obsessed with DM - and DM always sticks his oar in whenever there's chance.

Even so, there's no correlation between that and us hiring Steve Evans, IMO.

The only causal link here might be if Sparks happens to have asked DM his opinion in relative privacy, and MacAnthony has said Evans would be perfect. Even so, Darragh is wrong. He's far too divisive to be appointable here.

 

If Evans was on the verge of being appointed as many seem to think, is that based on his very desperate, almost begging article in the T&A last week, and the fact he was watching us yesterday?

 

DM said, in his latest podcast, that he offered the American partners a chance to buy him out because of all the abuse aimed at all of them.

He said if they buy him out in the summer, he'll have a few months off and then buy another club.

 

Folk only see what they want to see.
If it suits their own agenda.

 

Where has this idea that Sparks and McAntony are some kind of besties come from?

As far as I can tell McAntony is business associates with a City fan so Sparks is an easy guest who has been on a couple of times, listening to the podcast and their conversation there is no indication that they've had any kind of contact from one appearance to the next.
