If we bring in two quality strikers and a winger, i can genuinely see us challenging next season.

 

I still think we need an attacking midfielder.

As far as I’m aware the ones we’ve brought in / have don’t have a huge amount of goals between them.

Also need a backup GK, winger and ST.

4 more signings, please.

 

How did you manage to screw up the Wyke stats?

I'm assuming you've decided to factor in appearances for another club at another day and time?

Not very fair.

The current Wyke is 22 goals from 56 appearances.That is superior to Jones either at Bradford City or including his Port Vale spell (which was directly before he joined us).

 

Agreed. I've been impressed by the recruitment thus far and the Akpan signing is another impressive one. The likes of Akpan, O'Connor, O'Donnell & Riley show that we aren't just looking to put a team of U21s together. If we can secure two or three signings on a similar level to Akpan and resolve Wyke's future as soon as possible then we are looking good.

This is all bearing in mind that the likes of McGowan, Reeves & Jones will be like new additions. I'm also expecting better from the likes of Chicksen, Vincelot, McCartan. If Collins can get the best out of the existing players as well as the new additions then there is no reason why we can't compete. Still work to be done though.

 

My guess would be Lloyd at Peterborough.

If it’s a L1 striker we’re in for I wouldn’t mind it being Henderson from Rochdale. 33 I think so no spring chicken but might add that nouse up front

Why isn't it very fair? That is his League 1 record and those are the facts.

And no, it isn't far superior - 22 in 56 is not far superior than 14 in 41. It is 0.05 goals per game more.

 

Rahic asked McAnthony about him on Boxing Day last year when they beat us 3-1.

 

McAnthony tweeted back in the January transfer window that we had enquired about him.

 

It is when you factor in assists and general contribution to the team.

 

I thought he was a forward, certainly scored an awful lot of goals from midfield if indeed he is.

 

Bit of both, he’s a forward used more in midfield now. Look what happened last time we signed a 33 year old midfielder from Rochdale.

Jake Wright pitched himself as an attacking midfielder when he signed.

 

Henderson only recently signed a contract until 2020 with dale stating that he wanted to finish his career there. I’d have hoped if Wyke did go that we signed someone like Eoin Doyle and another decent striker and have a proper partnership instead of relying on 1 man up top. the best thing to happen would be to convince Wyke into a new deal with a release clause or if we didn’t go up to be transfer listed by request and then compliment him with a decent striking partner.

 

Jacob Hanson gone out on loan to Halifax until January. Brad Inman signed a 1 year deal at Rochdale.

 

What about Josh Wright though?
