Adams Sacking Prediction Poll

Here is a novel idea instead of going by name or cv invite open applications and interview as many as possible with an interview panel including people with good football knowledge and do the homework and let’s get the right one next time

 

They must do this next time, as Sparks off the shelf appointments have not worked (although I do still have sympathy for him re Adams)

 

I suspect most football people would have thought Adams was the right man for us. That could apply to many Football Directors. It’s L2. The fact we are 8 points off playoffs tells me how crap it is.
Adams has n’t worked and needs to go. The likes of McCann and Johnson look good choices but so did Grayson, Bowyer and Adams. No guarantees whoever we go for but it should n’t be this hard to get City actually playing some football and getting us somewhere near the playoffs even if we don’t go up.

 

A good idea. My questions are: who at the club would you put on the panel with good footballing knowledge? Or would you hire consultants or something? If so will sacking Adams, hiring consultants and hiring the new guy all be coming out of next years budget which could be smaller than this years?

 

I would bring in a football consultant someone with a wide knowledge of the game as for finance unless extra money is put in it all comes out of the same pot. Which is why there will be a lot of soul searching before Adams is sacked

 

Give him time he will take us up. Or we could just keep sacking managers every 6 months and see where we end up.

 

Pretty sure the most expensive, knowledgable and experienced football consultant in the world would have had Adams at the top of the pile at the time we recruited him. I think we all know deep down that's true. Promoting an idea that we all know comes with zero guarantees and is as likely as not to fail is just the sort of muddled thinking that got us to this point.

 

It still feels a bit amateur hour to me like getting volunteers in, we aren’t a charity and just because someone was a good or great player doesn’t automatically translate to the managerial side either scouting or doing.

Parks idea isn’t a bad one but does have flaws, money coming out of an already tight budget being one of them. But it’s time we starting acting more like a professional business and for me that means letting Sparks do the business side of things but bringing in a full time director of football who will bring a philosophy and footballing expertise to the club full time.

I would love Rupp to sell to a new enthusiastic owner. Maybe he will but for now as far as we know it’s not happening. One day he will sell. Boycotting and demonstrations could help bring it forward. But for me the immediate issue is the manager. If we were in the automatics or even the playoff places, we would n’t be focusing as much on the CEO or the owner. If we were winning and watching good football perhaps we’d all go home happy and put Rupp on the back burner for now.

I’m not asking for the moon here. I want to enjoy City. Four home wins in 6 months in L2 is not good enough for a manager to keep his job. Two of those four wins were in August. Then there is the lack of style, ideas, passion, entertainment. The atmosphere yesterday was non existent.

After Oldham and Harrogate we have our toughest run of home fixtures, all against playoff teams.
It could be carnage. If Sparks does not believe he can turn this around, and why should he, he should act now. Forget promotion for a moment, another manager just to win some games with this squad should not be that hard. Next season’s ST’s is now on the agenda.

That’s true but if we were top 3 or so it’d be highly unlikely unless they were on the wind up or just plain stupid.

 

I can see Morecambe getting relegated and Adams getting the boot. Derek returning to the seaside and taking them straight back up.

Wonder what'll happen first, Adams getting his P45 or the Red Army invading Ukraine?
Sparks might be looking at flights INTO Kiev in order to ensure Adams can't get to him once the hammer falls.

 

Jones and Morais get it. They understand what's required.
Get them on the panel.
