The finish was entirely down to the quality of the player. He was ready for the knock on, his first touch was enough to control the ball and put it where the defender couldn't get it and perfectly positioned for him to twist and shoot. All showing that quality players win matches.

Having been to Carslisle and Harrogate as well as seeing the disjointed home game efforts I was non too plussed about watching this on iFollow, but I’m pleased I did, we actually looked like we could play football and cared, was good to see Hendrie make a difference

Yes i will take that - Rockett - but I wish we could start scoring more to kill teams off - instead of giving them a sniff of them turning the game back in their favour

Can anyone truly see us winning our next 2 games?
Maybe a point against Exeter but looking at how Oldham destroyed Bristol Rovers last night (they should have won 5-1)
with Sheridan having them fired up, surely Captain Lethargy won't be able to rally the team to a win there???

Imagine Delboy putting Threlkeld and Gilliead out to fight against this lot, they'll be chewed up by the 5th minute.

If you dismiss all the hyperbole and look at the facts, it is the draws which are killing the season. The number of defeats City have experienced is relatively low and apart from Forest Green, is comparable with the best in the division. Exeter also have a high number of draws, but more wins than us. Bizarrely we are comparable with many clubs above us.
The other factor that is killing this season, is the style of play, which seems unsophisticated and at times a frustrating spectacle.
I genuinely hope we can improve, but every time we seem to be making progress, then we lose key personnel. Walker has been a breath of fresh air, a midfielder who has a goal threat. He limped off last night. We already have Vernam out, Eisa who never started, signed a companion for him in Pereria (why waste a slot for someone who has significant injury problems/lack of experience), Lavery who has hardly featured and takes up a squad place and flogged Crankshaw (who has only scored 1 goal in the last ten games!).
So I genuinely hope this is the start of a good roll and not a false dawn.
Finally, if I am not wrong, last night was the first double win of the season!

Not the impression given by @wetherby , I have a lot of time and respect for him on here but lost that last night tbh with his comments. Although he’s no longer a board member, he’s still associated with the club and shouldn’t be putting out provocative statements like that to paying customers. Between us on here we have 1000s of years of watching this club and all want what’s best for it and as someone who has travelled thousands of miles myself over the years am entitled to an opinion. A club isn’t a corner shop it’s a community asset and an owner is a guardian of it at the end of the day.

As @Fordy117@Fordy117 has put he was nowhere to be seen when we were on our poor streaks, one win and calling people out. Show a bit of class. I’d be interested to get Ryan’s thoughts on a club ambassador calling out paying customers in such a way.

Fordy, we should always be happy to celebrate a City win, ALWAYS!
Doesn't solve much in the bigger picture but if we can't enjoy a win whats the point?

It was quiet at the start. Cheer and clap when the team came out at the start. Not much in terms of chants - one round of each of the usual ones during the 90 mins. One guy brought a drum but gave in with it after about 15 minutes.

Few claps and cheers for some tidy keeping by Bass first half. Of course they played away form us the first half when there were a few chances so that probably didn't help. Second half, loudest cheer for the goal obviously. Not much else really. Claps and few folk doing chants at the end.

The video posted on Facebook is the small group of 10 or so behind the goal that were the most vocal.

The most amusing part of the evening was a chap apparently called Deano who'd had a few bevvies and was having a running tirade against their bald number 8 at one point shouting at their captain to give him a slap round the head! "Give over lino, get a job you love" was one that got some chuckles. Aside from him, it was pretty quiet.

    Huh.

It has been a while since I heard about Crankshaw. Checks out that he's no longer scoring as many.
