Id imagine that would be the case for most away teams going to any home ground. Fustrate the home team and try to nick a goal. If you can piss the fans off too then bonus.

 

Exactly, wouldn't it go down well if he said before a certain date those were not players signed by me that would be a great team bonding comment.
He said what most fair minded fans though he would say, they are all me signings, imagine the stick he'd get on here trying to hide behind the " I didn't sign him or him".

 

Well in all my years I was astounded that DA felt that modern day footballers were not inclined to "run through a brick wall". Most athletes and sports people have to shed blood and guts to be the best they can be and in football on match days fans expects a minimum, that they give all in the cause until they drop. So, in my world, that old adage re brick walls is still relevant.

 

To be honest Fordy he has got you by the short and curlys on this one, you really can't have a go at others when you couldn't be bothered to put your head above the parapet. This was your big chance to show you are not just a keyboard dancer

 

Adams was out of order with his reply regarding the two players mentioned, the questioner was not stating there had only been 2 players prepared to run through a brick wall for the manager team and
fans we have had hundreds over the years but he gave the 2 examples poor reply from Adams IMO.

Completely agree. I really believe what we are missing is movement (and a central strike that doesn’t get injured ). No one runs into space and if they do it is always behind the player with the ball. We need to start making triangles and putting together more one twos.

 

Those three are common denominators in our failures of recent times.

That squad had alot of players who left everything on the pitch Darby, Mcardle, Davies, Hanson, Clarke, Meredith, Duke, Alan Connell, Gary Thompson - Gary Jones is a rare breed I don't think he has it in him not to go 100%.I can remember watching games where we were poor but I can't remember many if any where I came away thinking they hadn't worked hard I can't say the same about any of the teams since we lost to Milwall. The Leicester documentary is on prime or Netflix theres an interesting segment where they talk to their recruitment guy and he says you give up on a bit of skill if the mentality of the player is right. I agree about the manager needing to have a clear plan but at league 2 level the quality is so inconsistent that the teams that work hard and give it everything are usually there or there abouts come the end of the season .

 

Perhaps you ought to come out from behind your cloak of invisibility and do something about it ? After all you seem to be the one person that the club can do absolutely nothing right for.

 

Disagree, it’s happened a fair few times second half of games. I doubt a team tries first half then says let’s not bother second half lads. More down to fitness imo.

 

I know it's the other end of the spectrum in the English footballing pyramid but our neighbours seem to run through brick walls for Bielsa’s Leeds. Certainly not the most gifted team in the PL but efforts alone, makes them stand out at that level.
Maybe it's a lazy comparison on my part?

 

Look, 17k fans and I would say 50% are just there for something to do. We need to have a hard look at ourselves now.

Oldham fans seem to care more than Bradford fans. We follow in numbers but should be expecting better!

 

If you take any of the players currently out our club and stick them in that side of Parkys they would also give this '100%'. It isn't about individual players, it's about the environment around them. Success breeds confidence which in turn sees better performances which in turn gets the backing of the fans. Parky brought that to our club, not one individual player or players. It's too easy to call players out when in truth most of those players under Parky will at one point in their careers have been called out just like our players are now.

 

It was all about team spirit and togetherness with Parky’s team and the right balance get that right and the odd player going through a bad patch can be carried

 

So the 1st half against Scunthorpe was down to them not being fit in the first half ?????? Fitness is an easy cop out they simply ain’t got the heart for the battle ......... I mean they had a nice 15 minute sit down at half time at Carlisle did tiredness kick in because of that ???? I can understand them flagging from the 70th minute but after 45 ???

 

At the moment our team balance just isn't there. Injuries haven't helped but the first 23 games and the cup games have shown the squad playing wise is not capable of doing what Adams and the fans want. He admits that and is looking for not necessarily better players, although Jamie Walker clearly is better than what we have, but a better balance of players within the squad. Parky didn't necessarily have great players but he had the right balance of triers and talent. We haven't had the talent side, that affects the confidence of the rest of the team.

 

Funny you should say that because they had a debate on Talksport yesterday about Rashford playing like he "didn't want to run" for balls. Footballers these days just haven't got what they used to have.

Can you imagine footballers of the 70's and 80's doing anything but busting a gut, irrespective of the quality (or lack of) that have.
