I have heard it all now. Let's not sign international players because they may miss 3 games a season. FFS

Yes I get all of that. If we didn’t want him, we should have just released him end of. Knock it off with sarcasm, it is really irritating, and I there is nothing normal at the club at the moment. So yes ppl are raising questions.

I think McGowan is a good player although I am not sure he is on three years but I definitely think Riley and Robinson and the lad today also.so on the face of it I agree with Patrick. Who are the others you have in mi d

I told you, I'm a sarcastic person and this is another situation that warrants it based on some of the pathetic over reaction from our fan base to a normal footballing matter.

We didn't say we didn't want him, we obviously made an offer which our owners thought was fair, Colin obviously didn't agree that it was fair, time elapses and the offer is withdrawn.

But our fan base can't accept it's that simple.

Obviously the club did want him at a certain cost. He wanted more. First offer turned down. Negotiations continued, club started looking elsewhere, club decode gap is too large so end negotiations.

    How does that sound?

Well Colin and his wife appear upset and surprised. So they thought it was negotiable.

There is a case that the club can't do right for doing wrong.

The player should be informed of any decision before a press release.

    He was.

    Still, a shitstorm.

For me, the primary concern is getting better value for money, not that a player was released. Doyle was not indispensable, but he was a good L1 player.

I do sympathise with the club that Doyle has gone to social media immediately, but I also understand Doyle's decision given that he's hurting.

End of the day, this is only cast in a negative light due to the excess of negative light.

It's about time the club started avoiding negative light - something they are woeful at, and not because the owners are victims either, might I add. Just because they aren't very skilled at handling high profile, high intensity media.

Well it is just your view that thinks our fans are pathetic, not e everyone shares you which may come as a surprise from your lofty position, well at least what you imagine is lofty!

But obviously they wouldn’t / couldn’t agree to the offer the club made, and the club couldn’t/ wouldn’t agree to what Doyle wanted. Not sure how that is just the clubs fault.

I don't have a lofty position, I also don't call my club scum like fans on twitter have because they don't understand what's happened and just plain don't like our owners.

The over reaction to a player being released tonight has been embarrassing.

I'd have personally kept him, he's a steady keeper but it's not the end of the world that he's leaving.

His wife is upset because they are settled in the area and will likely have to move again.

Definitely isn’t to do with negotiations, check Mrs Doyle’s Twitter and see how pissed off she is. They are very settled in Bingley it seems (they only moved into a new house a couple of weeks ago) so I’d imagine they’d probably be willing to accept less money in order to stay. It also seems Colin was in the process of starting a business in Bingley. Rahic has definitely found a new, better/cheaper/German keeper, and as they’ve rescinded the offer I imagine they believe it’s nailed on.

Ok, if your offer is so low that the other side cannot accept, how is that honest negotiating? Look the club need a goal keeper? Why didn’t they just say to Colin look we can only offer you this, we realise you would be looking for more, but we are looking for another goal keeper we would be happy for you to be number 2 or whatever. It is then up to the player to say yes or no. Protracted negotiations are not in the club or players interest in my view,

If it isn’t due to negotiations why didn’t he sign in the month he had?

TBF, he was away with Eire once the season ended. He came back and went straight back out to do his UEFA B Coaching badge. He was home for a few days before jetting off on holiday with his family.

He did post earlier this week that he couldn’t wait to get back to work, but the club have obviously seen a cheaper option in the meantime.

You may want to continue to discredit everyone else’s view with your “Edin bashing” claim, but folks have a genuine reason to be upset about this....!

So in this case the club made an offer, we know that as a fact. The player declined the offer, or didn’t reply, we also know that as a fact as he is leaving. Obviously both sides thought there was a point continuing negotiating because as you say protracted negotiations are no good for either side. In the end someone has to call it a day and move on. In this case it was the club to stop the protracted negotiations continuing for ever.

I am would only be embarrassed if I had stepped over the line, what others choose to write is up to them. It is an emotional time for fans, so yes they may well be an over reaction. The jury is out as far as I am concerned re the owners, I don’t trust them, so they are going to have to re earn it. I understand it is upsetting when fans are calling our own club scum and saying we are the shit of West Yorkshire like someone on here yesterday.

When you come across as not caring about your fan base, every single little thing is clawed to death, that is what happens.

He played a few games, in that time his agent could still have been talking to the club on his behalf.

It was his choice to take that course, him wanting to progress his own career after his playing days are finished is a good thing but if it causes him problems with his existing career choices that's on h and nothing to do with the club.

He's had over 30 days to sort out his new contract, it's a simple footballing issue that happens every summer. They haven't reached a deal that both parties are happy with.

I would also say the vast majority of backlash on social media is because of the dislike for Edin, you only have to read the bcafc hashtag to see it for yourself.

He's not been unfairly treated, he's been given the same amount of time as all other professionals in the game to sign his deal.

The club have decided to look elsewhere.

He never actually received a formal offer, according to his wife.

But if this was true, why wouldn’t the reason given be, “as the club and I were unable to agree the terms of a new deal, I have been told that I won’t be staying next season”. Instead they specifically state that “the club have decided to go a different route”.

TBF, the club have had 12mths to tie him down to a new deal. They did with Killa and Vincelot so it’s not necessarily something you have to wait until May to do. But, the player can’t have as long as the club took to appoint the existing u18 part time coach?

Doyle is a respected player. Losing him and not knowing what we will get to replace him with is a genuine concern. It’s got feck all to do with thoughts on Edin.
