Watching the Dominic Cummings select committee thing is a great insight. Vaguely entertaining to saddos like me.

 

It shines a light on the mind boggling levels of incompetence at play. And the amount of people who defer to 'government guidance' with a completely unchallenged mindset, is equally terrifying to me.

 

Can’t wait for the whitewash.

 

Weird isn’t it that when Cummins was employed by Boris the line was we couldn’t believe anything he said but now media and online seem to be believing every word

 

The groupthink and over-modelling based on incorrect assumptions is amazing to hear. Not a surprise but it being spelled out in such an open way from an insider is incredible.

Mr Cummings painted a vivid picture of the atmosphere in Downing Street on one "crazy" day when the government was considering a national lockdown.

On the morning of 12 March, said Mr Cummings, the "national security people came in" and said "Trump wants us to join a bombing campaign in the Middle East tonight" and this "totally derailed" meetings about coronavirus.

At the same time, "the prime minister's girlfriend was going completely crackers" over stories in the press about her dog.

Part of the building was talking about bombing Iraq, part was talking about household restrictions, and "the prime minister's girlfriend was going completely crackers about something trivial," Mr Cummings told the committee.

 

I was playing snooker last night and in the lounge there were 4 people, in total there were 11 people in the club, driving home we passed numerous pubs with very few customers so IMO many are still a little reluctant to get back to any sort of normality.
With regards attending outside sporting events the government will tell all concerned how many will be allowed back into football grounds, if you feel the guidelines are not safe don't attend, its your own personal choice.

Think he said that it had disrupted the outcomes of the Cobra meeting because people started dealing with other things (the potential bombing raids and the press fall out of the story about the dog) rather than being singularly focused on the actions from COBR.

Thought Cummings nearly made a massive error when he let slip how much he privately briefed Laura Kuenssberg. He wasn't giving those text messages up if his life depended on it!

Ive been listening to it on the radio, Cummings is like a mistress who has been dumped then going and telling the wife everything. I knew MPs were incompetent and this is the pertect example. Even now though Starmer fails to stick the boot in despite having 4 aces in his hand. Christ this country is run by fecking halfwits.
