Totally irreverent to my post but yes I believe he was, I'm sure the disgust of the fans at the time was because he sacked Trevor Cherry rather than the appointment of Terry Dolan.

 

Just gonna ask that, it did seem an abrupt ending.

 

I think they had agreed with the previous owners about keeping ST's as they were. It would have been commercial suicide to have changed them in any significant way.
McCall was an excellent decision posibly pushed for by James Mason
The Dev squad deprived the 1st team squad of resources as it was funded from club income
As far as I know Sheff Utd came for him and offered silly money. Even Rahic could not turn that down
Grayson was a complete bollock drop appointment. In which way did he ever fit with their model? They then compound their stupidity by offering him a further 2 years
ST's - again commercial suicide to anything else
The pitch was totally broken and whilst we are all pleased to see it overhauled please don't make out like it was some great decision. It was forced upon them

 

I'm trying to think of a positive and I've thought of one: Here goes.

Edin has put his head on the chopping block here and his co-chairman has 100's of millions of quid.
If this all goes tits up it'll be a personal disaster for Edin.

Is it possible that now the "master plan" is in place that we might invest decent money to get a decent team again?

Sh*t - Well that's blown that sliver of positivity right out of the water.

Suppose your excuse you did it a few weeks ago. Talk about being robbed.

 

Get a few more players in, coupled with a few early wins and this will all be forgotten and the moaners will be scraping around at the bottom of the barrel to find something else to moan about.

 

I have already said it disappoints. However it’s in everybody’s interest to get behind the set up. If it turns out to a crap appointment fair enough but nobody knows

 

You must be delighted with James Mason leaving though - after all, you spent the best part of last season and this summer slagging him off. Go on, give Edin some praise....

 

Greg has bills to pay same as the rest of us, but it doesn't look good to say they were such close buddies during there days together at Valley Parade, those being words from Greg's own mouth.

 

The point is valid because why would he withdraw his support when he appointed someone similar himself. And trust me a lot of fans were very angry at his appointment

Just catching up with everything that has happened since last night - difficult to know where to start. All City fans will wish the new coach the best of luck but lets be honest the whole thing is a farce, Edin is now in a position to control all aspects of the club. His ego is totally out of control, he has alienated or got rid of most of the staff at the club, many reporters in the press have seen through him but most worryingly of all is the way he does not seem to have any apparent empathy with the fans or care about our concerns. After such a long, frustrating and protracted review process for the new coach when it eventually arrived it had to be the catalyst to pull us all together and provide fresh hope. Instead we get the news of James M resigning the night before, Collins is on the back foot before he has even started and the most downbeat, defensive and uninspiring press conference you could ever believe. Yes City fans will all get behind the new coaching team (its not their fault) but ER is making a mockery of the club I love to suit his own massive ego and that he knows best in all matters. He does not mind being the pantomime villain if it gives him a chance to show he know best - I am frankly horrified at how he is alienating everyone involved with the club. Shame on you Rahic! I know this is perhaps over emotive but this was a chance to pull us all back together and the guy is still coming out with bollocks - he has no humility. Rant over.............for now!

 

I was shocked when it was announced this morning. Didn’t think the owners would go down that route based on the abuse they’d get on top of what they’re already getting.
But just because Collins and Drury are inexperienced doesn’t mean they’re going to do a bad job. Everyone thought the same as Paul Jewell, but he brought a togetherness to the squad which hopefully these guys will do.

The one thing that’s annoyed me is that they obviously weren’t anywhere near first choice with it taking Rahic so long to appoint them when they were already at the club.

 

-Season ticket prices we're agreed with Lawn and Rhodes before they left.
-Rhodes told edin to hire McCall. PR stunt to get the fans onside.
-Development squad full of cast offs, 95% of whom will never be good enough. All while eating 300k per year from the ever reducing 1st team budget.
- I'll give you that one.
- Hired Grayson who goes against everything they believe in. A MANAGER who wants a big budget and doesn't want the development squad. Pointless.
- Same point.
- Had no other option and again was taken out of the playing budget.

My concern is all 3 were in and around the club during the slump and nothing changed. Edin should have started with a clear out to make sure it never happens again. What will rather do differently when we hit a slump?

 

Give Edin some praise for driving a man out who gave his all for Bradford City, you certainly have a weird way of explaining stuff @Sergio Pinto III, I think you'll find it was James who could no longer work under the ego that is Edin rather than Edin sacking James.

 

Mr Rupp has to agree with decision(s) too - that is just as frightening!

Well I woke up to the news that we have appointed the panda pop nippers team coach as first team coach,and with that a new low for this once great club. A fully grown man brought to the brink of tears whilst eating marmalade on toast at the kitchen table with my wife. I can categorically say after being a season ticket holder for 25 years that I will now be picking and choosing what away games I wish to attend (if any). How embarrassing!
