Further to what I posted the other day, we have apparently been looking at Ferguson since around March time. Edin liked the way he has brought in youngsters at Donny and has kept them in the league. And also see his previous work with Peterborough.

The owners knew if Grayson didn’t sign they needed a back up and Fergie looks to be that man.

Now the reason for the delay is if we snapped him up immediately after resigning from Donny they would have sought some form of compensation and City are not willing to pay any. By delaying it we can say he became available and we started talking but it’s possible his head was turned?

He is consulting with the club on players and plans and as I said the other day it should be done early this week.

As I said will hold my hands up if it’s wrong but taken from same source as previously.

Even though I would be thoroughly unimpressed with Ferguson after all this palaver, if this is true at least it shows a bit of clear thinking from the board.

It's felt rather haphazard but that's because nobody knew anything really, but if they have been stuck on him for a while, it makes me feel a bit better about him and their decision making process

The thing that puts this in doubt for me is the reason he left Doncaster was because they didn’t have a budget ( believed to be midtable) to challenge for promotion and the common belief on here is that nor do we. So why go from one midtable budget to allegedly another

I too hated the idea of it being him but the more I’ve read and researched he seems to be passionate and wanting to play football the right way with youngsters. Has experience at this level and above, was very unlucky to go down with Peterborough on 54 points one time. He’s consolidated at donny whilst not spending loads. Don’t think he would stand for a collapse like we had this season that’s for sure.

He had been in Leeds recently staying at a Premier Inn to sort out the finer details and consult with the board further. And as I said before it caused some Leeds fans to think he was in for their job should Bielsa not get it.

I understand that Park but if you look at Donnys out of contract players, the more experienced ones they are expected to lose, he would need a big budget to get those replaced and then to sign players to compete further up the table. They needed a bigger budget to do all that and I don’t think the board were willing to back that at Donny
