Can't agree on Vernham he has quality Jury still out for me on Crankshaw but I'm not really seeing it. However both of them are totally wasted on the pitch if all we are going to do is boot it up the pitch hoping for a chance to be created. Lost count if how many times we kicked it long to no one tonight.

 

How many of the new signings would you give more than 5 out of 10 over the piece? Canavan? I can see others may benefit from a different system.

 

Sales will be poor next season anyhow with all the uncertainty still about when all fans can be admitted to stadiums again.

Yep - formation or not you cannot possibly tell me he is not an improvement on what we started with this eve. Who gives a flying f*** if he appears lethargic or doesn't celebrate enough when he scores. Someone will say he doesn't work hard enough. Well plenty of others worked hard tonight but they might as well not have bothered for the end result. How do we fit him into the team others will say. How do we not with the shower of shite we've witnessed the last several games?

Gutted it's come down to this as this was a real shining light amidst a pretty shitty time i.e. holding out hope for a play off place.

Back line looked really weak tonight and really vulnerable against pace. I think that is the dilemna with this system - to get it to work progressively players have to join in in numbers with the lone striker leaving us exposed to a counter and with no pace at the back we are exposed time and again. I can't believe this is a long term solution for T&S unless we have a virtual overhaul of at least 5-6 players.

I see Carlisle haven’t won again,only win since 30th January was against us ,that’s telling you something.

 

Sadly both players have gone backwards, we know playing wide men can be a massive advantage if that players is getting the ball and taking his full back on, he's still a kid and learning, we saw tonight how someone like Gilliead can pick the ball up and make yardage into the oppositions half.
Andy K saying Cranshaw has been our best player the last two games firing good crosses into the box, as they say footballs a funny old game.

Used properly?- been that way for a while the way the managers set the team up.
4-2-3-1 with barely a sniff for the lone striker, one shot on target before Rowe came on.
A couple of shots hit the woodwork and some bad misses from others but nothing to think City will turn the corner and go on another run.
I cannot fathom why they want to play like this week in week out with small changes in personnel but pretty much dire stuff attacking wise.
Up to the gaffers to change the style but not expecting much.
Promotion push next season- aye that might sell a few tickets but aint looking likely.

Didn't get chance to watch tonight so cant comment on the performance but no hiding its another poor result - lets be clear about one thing though in line with comments questioning the full time appointment of T&S, they HAD to be given the job after the run of results they achieved - no question. Yes be critical of what has happened over the past few games but everyone was behind it at the time, so it looks very hypocritical to now be saying there was no need to appoint them full-time. Many on here said give Scales a run after his very brief cameo on Saturday, but tonight he is being slated for not being good enough and being non existent. As fans we can be very very fickle and at times very wise after the event.

No denying it is very sad we have collapsed again so quickly - obviously T&S will know their honeymoon period is well and truly over (they are not daft) but would also be interesting to hear from Turnbull again as he got all the plaudits for January, perhaps be a good time for some reassurance that plans for the summer are well in hand as it is pretty obvious what we have currently is a mid-table league 2 team and no one at the club should accept this for next season. That is one thing we can all be clear on

The positive strides we made in January:

1) We're no longer relying on a player like Clayton, who is obviously over the hill, as our ONLY striker. The two incoming forwards have both scored goals.

2) Canavan is a solid presence at the back and a good addition.

3) We have a couple of players capable of running at defenders - though while Crankshaw is clearly non-league standard, Vernam has the quality but is just frustrating at the moment.

4) Goodbye to some real dross.

Did we solve all of our deep-rooted issues within the squad? Of course not. I think if you expected that, you were expecting miracles; we'd have needed roughly ten in, ten out.

But to say the positive strides have been minimal is proper silly.
