Seriously you need to come on when we've lost, talk about knee jerk reactions, at this present moment I'd take a play off place, do you see Bolton scraping into the auto's or could we meet again at Wembley.

So what is the reason he has been so less effective in the last few games if it is NOT tiredness?

Aren't league two players allowed to have poorer games?

I was assuming if they're on it every week they wouldn't be in league two but perhaps I'm wrong.

 

That is exactly the case, saw one comment on here saying we were 'useless' - we were up against a good team in great form today, we may have struggled in certain areas but there is a desire and determination in our boys now. I for one really enjoy the debate that either Canavan, Paudie or AOC was MOM today, great to see our defence standing up to tougher tests and still giving very little away. They are League 2 players, they are going to make mistakes - but there seems to be a real pride in protecting our goal and keeping clean sheets.
Boltons midfield in particular bossed today, but what immense joy there is scoring a vital goal 3 mins into injury time - 3 months ago we were powder puff and now we never know when we are beaten. That in itself is something to celebrate, even when we have for the most part been 2nd best

 

Funny, here was me thinking Cooke has played in every game of this 15 game run under T & S where we've lost only one game. I guess you're not allowed the odd game here and there where you're not fully firing.

 

i'm pretty sure no one isn't celebrating todays late goal, it just amuses me that because we are a good run that any mention of comments that aren't uber positive are met with derision by some. If that last minute goal doesn't go in most people would admit that Bolton deserved the three points. Its not a criticism, its a view on the game.

 

Did not say that he was not allowed any games to be below par-just that he was. Today he was below par. Dunno why you are arguing he wasn't. He was.

Could be suffering a niggly injury Keef?

 

well i am delighted we got something from the game. Not at our best but showed great spirit to gain a point .
defense was immense and the result will bolster confidense , taking a point from one of the better teams in the league, who have arguably the best squad and on a great run themselves. Would not be surprised to see us both in the playoffs or better.

 

We are 9/2 with bookies to finish top three, which I think is a bit longer than we should be but chances are we won't go straight up.
The late goal today and a late goal v Morecambe when we had a man sent off have cost us 4 points which I do not think we could afford. (Red card later rescinded). I would hate to play Bradford (know too many Bradford fans) , Tranmere (history between clubs) or Salford (just because) in the play offs so would avoid a lot of heart ache if we could go straight up.
But equally know it could go tits up and we end up finishing 10th.

 

A fairly balanced 1st half with both defenses on top. Bolton were marginally better in possession but created very little as did we.

Second half, Bolton stepped up a gear and their press was excellent. Really suffocated us hence our poor ball retention at times today. The pressure was building but we must acknowledge what an excellent defence we have right now. Despite their territorial advantage we nullified most of their attacks but admittedly some cracks were appearing.

Doyle should have hit the target with his header and Hornby pulled off 2 decent saves. When their goal came it was deserved. However, our response was excellent. In the space of 10 minutes we created as many decent chances as they had in the previous 40. Funny how goals can change games as I couldn't see us scoring until then. A great response and great character to pull it back.

It's a good point against the best team in League 2. To gain a point against them when not at our best is a sign of a mentally tough team.

If only the fans had been there today. The roof of the Kop would have blown off when Rowe's goal went in!

Two quality teams with attacking intent, both teams wanted to win and played football the ‘right way’

I think a draw was the anticipated result on form and that was the right result given how the game panned out.

Haven't screamed for a goal that loud all season when the equaliser went in. F*ck*ng brilliant.

 

Talking of cowards-gonna take my earlier bet?
