That even supposes that BRE was capable of stringing two coherent words together

He was about to bring in better players on the back of his contract extension. Didn't he and Lee Turnbull identify Danny Rowe as the number one target along with Niall Canavan?
Ironically I think he wanted us to play the style of football we are now playing. However I can't get past the signing of Motley Henry, not playing with a back four (using AOC and POC in the middle) and the fitness issues.
The problem with McCall managing City is he put too much pressure on himself and that translates down to the players. During our recent unbeaten run we weren't always at our best but the thing I noticed about our management team is even when things weren't going well they didn't look stressed or seem to panic.
Anyway it's gone now, time to move on. I hope Stuart does and I wish him the best.

And credit where it's due. There's a great recent interview on Youtube where Gazza tells James English that Stuart helped make him a better footballer because of the role he played alongside him. McCall was a great player. But sadly lived in the past as a manager.

Don't want to go OTT as their are certain posters on here who throw a right strop when they believe your showing too much positivity with regards Stuart.

I can't remember him have many poor games over his two spells at Valley Parade.

That Rangers midfield of Stuart, Gazza and Albertz was quite tasty. I also remember the England v Scotland game that Gazes scored in, McCall was probably the best midfielder on the pitch.

Dave, I'm with you on that. Stuart should always be remembered for the faith and pride he's put into our club. But...tbh, his teams did put in some shockers during his losing runs both times as full time manager.

Only quoting his time as a player mate, he epitomized everything a professional football should do on the field of play, great leader, great Captain, never shirked a tackle, remember the one from Seth Johnson at home to Derby County that nearly chopped him in half around the halfway line shocking challenge, and a totally nice genuine human being off the pitch.

In regards to SM, I guess not. But I'm OK listening to BB, decent enough contributor in the main.

maybe but when a midfielder doesn't track his runner and they conceded a goal from it which took the game away from them when they were arguably on top then it's difficult to defend that moment. if it was one of our midfielders that did that we'd be apoplectic. we have been in the past.

Yes! I remember 'the Seth'! Sorry, I thought you meant as manager. Totally agree, as a player for us - and Everton, Rangers and The Blades - he was one stormer of a player. And bloody consistent throughout his entire career. Go well, mate. We might get to see a game soon.

Maybe so. But I guess it's the manner and timing in a post related to post Macca sacking... Yes, I know a post was brought up regards Macca for Scotland. Time and a place?

I'll just say, that Bronco is a decent enough contributor too:)

Astonishing that you remember the moment so vividly! Kudos. Astonishing too, that SM goes down in your estimation as a player because of one mistake. Don't know about you BB, but I've made plenty of bloody mistakes in my life.

Your obsessed my friend when we discussed McGod you said you weren't questioning his footballing ability but his poor football management, then the first opportunity your making silly comments about a game 25 years ago, have a look at this clip and tell me McGod is at fault when there are 3 Scotland defenders between him and Gorman.

he doesn't and he hasn't.. i recognise the good things he did in his career and what he achieved but i don't take him as the best player to play for bradford city. he's not even the best midfielder to play for bradford city. most committed and consistent whilst playing for us? yes, i'd give him that. he was a very good player but he wasn't exceptional.

bronco, he let's his opposite number in midfield run off him. it's not as if Gazza ran behind him or wasn't in his sight.. it's a CMs job to track CM runners. McCall failed to do this and the guy that ran off him scored the goal. track your runner and he may not receive the pass from which he scored.
