Better than signing a no footed striker ala Guthrie!

Hoping he gets a game and puts in an outstanding performance.
Be amusing to read many of the posters on this thread back tracking.

Of course. But he didn’t play a game and wasn’t even getting in the BPA side. Just because he was at Leeds, means nothing

I suppose if he’s single and stuck in lockdown the wrist injury is understandable

If it was a wrist injury that held him back at Leeds get him a girlfriend, quick.

Not getting a game, as a keeper, doesn't necessarily mean you're no good. Managers are understandably reluctant to drop keepers if they're doing ok, or to rotate them. So there are a lot of pretty decent keepers sitting on subs benches, all over the country, not getting game time.

Good question. Players who have played for both clubs. I'll start it off: Terry Dolan, Bobby Ham.........

I don't think this is anything to get in a fuss about. This keeper has been signed as an emergency back up, to our back up keeper. We're not going to be paying big money, for someone who effectively will become third choice in a few months time.

What does worry me, is that we still haven't got anyone in to bolster the first team, despite being told we're going to "hit the ground running", "have names on paper already" and "not going to be left behind in terms of signings". Hmm...where have I heard this before? Yet this time we've got a specialist recruitment manager. Surely Turnbull, having identified this lad from Leeds, should have been jumping through hoops to get the signing done so the boy can at least be on the bench this Saturday? And while we're at it Turnbull...make some room on that bench by kicking Guthrie, BRE and DMH off it! Although those I appreciate will take some time, and maybe they'll even be someones last day panic purchases. Poor sods.

A bit homophobic that, and what about transgenders? We don't yet know his sexual orientation.

With the greatest respect to Huffer, hopefully he doesn't even get a game because that'd mean Hornby hasn't seized his chance and we've dropped points because of uncertainty with the goalkeeper or another injury and we can't afford either at the moment.

Don't see any negatives in this signing. He's technically coming in as 3rd choice, has a good background, he's young enough to improve with us, won't be much on the cap and if he turns out to be decent then he's our player.

So Fordy, you want us to spend a big chunk of our remaining budget on a backup keeper, for our backup keeper?

Pop him on the list with that goalkeeper we had that allegedly could only dive to his right.

I second that. I moved to Burton to work for Bass (Coors). I had a Bass house on one side of the street, and a Marstons on the other. My poor Mrs got used to sleeping with the windows open.

For the first time I agree with Fordy. This is the most important position in the team and I would have like to see someone with more experience. Look what Matt Gills did for Bolton when he came into their side , and he is 38 years old. I am not convinced Hornby is good enough to be No. 1 choice , after all he has only made 12 league appearances in his career and he looked a bit dodgy in cup matches last season.

Yeah I think so. Absolute shambles of a board at times but some of the stuff I read did make me laugh.
