That's how I read it. Not sure how it'll work beyond that though !

 

Because the tickets need to be distributed to people and as long as people understand that it’s conditional (even on something that probably won’t happen), I don’t see the issue with this.

I’d have probably used an apply and ballot system to make it a little less onerous on a ticket infrastructure that’s not always shown itself in the best light - but you can imagine what would happen if they had to sort all this out in about three days. If we had a functioning bar code system then you could sort it by allowing access to certain barcodes, but we don’t, and so we can’t.

The timing is just unfortunate, and the club probably couldn’t win this one. If you just gave tickets to 2,000 people and only 1,700 turned up, people would be complaining that they wanted to go and a dysfunctional random system prevented them from doing so.

 

That's a fair comment, but it also causes the problem of filtering out those that attended from the next "draw" to keep it fair, all academic if we stay in tier three though, which makes applying for a ticket no one can use a bit of a waste of time.

Surely better to allocate them by number and have a waiting list if the allocation isn't used.

Surely better to allocate them by number and have a waiting list if the allocation isn't used. Or accept we can't get people in for this match even if we go into tier two and be ready for the next home match with more time to prepare.

Stay in tier three and the club has wasted money allocating tickets we can't use. It's a problem that not many clubs at our level have and a bit of a no win.

 

Seems a few teething problems on the ticketing site. Waiting times flying up for everyone. Queues of over an hour

Couldn't make it up really. Managed to get the tickets in the basket twice only for the site to freeze then crash and now I've been booted out.

 

Managed to get my ticket...hopefully Boris puts us in Tier 2

Managed to get 2 nice and easy. Cost me £4 in total though even though the tickets are free as they add on an online booking fee

I think a lot of people don’t realise that the ticket site boots you out after a measly five minutes of not clicking on something.

 

Problem is it takes longer than 5 minutes for the basket to load.

 

Outrageous

 

If there's a fee for booking tickets we've already paid for then they are taking the piss.
