McCall - we were poor throughout. Lots of work to do. Staunton out for a long, long time. No excuses. We should have been out of it at half-time. A lot of disappointing performances. Lots of players can’t play full games at moment, but performance wasn’t good enough. Giving ball away often. No tactics work with terrible passing and not being able to keep possession. We created very little. It’s going to be a long season with performances like that. At moment we are toiling. There will be changes for Tuesday. We were poor today. We can’t be any worse in possession of ball than today. Poor defending for second goal. Donaldson needs a breather but there’s no-one to bring in. Injuries are making it difficult to freshen things up. Re-iterates, no excuses. Got to be better. Says no to free agents. Sites example of player signed by Hamilton who in third day of training pulls hamstring and is out for three months. Tough game on Tuesday but we will freshen up where we can. It’s going to be a difficult few weeks. We’ve got to be better than we were today. Do we have to pack in at back and try scrape out a point? Maybe. It’s going to be a challenging season, but let’s stick together. Hossanah not injured. Staunton out for months.

These interviews are going downhill fast in terms if expectations.

2 weeks ago it was "we're going for playoffs", last week it was "watch and see", now we're just trying to get a team that can pass to each other.

Give it a couple of weeks and we'll just be happy if the lads get their boots on the right feet.

100% agree. Staunton has been our one shining light and McCall has badly mismanaged him, hamstrings are notoriously troublesome once they’ve been damaged, Michael Owen being the main example. To have unnecessarily torn one at 18 puts Staunton in an awful position - that’s on McCall.

 

I wonder who organised the contract , was it Julian or new CEO?

 

Not signing players because a lad at Hamilton pulled his hamstring is a lazy excuse. The team has been crying out for additions for two months, if he’d brought them in then they would have been up to speed by now.
