grade one year and you're looking around 3 weeks before being able to do any functional power movements (key for sprints from slow start) and if not treated correctly and player 100% confident to perform movement it'll just recur and exacerbate the issue.. usually able to grade grade ones from simple diagnostic tests. if scans needed to diagnose / confirm grading then it could be a bit longer. a lot will depend on where the tear is too; muscle belly or closer to tendinous junction (more difficult and will take longer to heal).

McCall needs to realise that these 'people' reading the scans aren't any tom, dick or harry - they do it all day, every day. they don't often get it wrong either.

I'd like to pretend that you aren't actually being serious but I'm really not sure.

Yes, they'll be our striking partnership for the time being and it's unlikely to change for the better. That's the worrying thing.

Fans with long memories might just recall Clarke scoring 13 goals for us in one season. That's now 7 years ago! Since then, he's scored 16 league goals in 121 appearances. That's hardly prolific for a striker.

I think in these times the EFL should allow loans through to the end of the January window for league 1 & 2 clubs. Maybe allowing 1 extra loan after the summer window has closed. Not because we’ve lost our prolific strike force but to give players who were injured during the window, a chance to go out and play football.

I think we only have two loanees at the moment and so without any changes to the existing rules, we could have taken more. Unfortunately, we chose not to do so which might reflect the club's expectation in the league for this season.

Unfortunatly most of those names were quoted by fellow posters on here, not sure many were actual targets.

I have re read the Rhodes interview and I think you are over stating the negative. He repeatedly said we were in a better position than most. His final words were we need to get promotion not necessarily this season. This is the case for all teams isn’t it.

Most teams want promotion THIS season especially as you say we are in a better position than most
It's a weak league and for a club in a better position than most a good opportunity to get out this league
Negativity is what's holding us back

The introduction of the salary cap was a golden opportunity. With a wealthy owner, we could have signed players out of the reach of most clubs, ahead of the cutoff date for the cap, taking advantage of the weakest league 2 I can remember.

I'm referring to this season and not to some undefined time in the future when JR will no longer be here. He can promise or infer all he wants when he's elsewhere and has no responsinilities at VP.

On your other point, if we really are in a better position than most then that leads to the obvious question. Why didn't we take advantage of that position, recruit more and go for it this season?

    Exactly
No vision, no plan, no interest, drowning in negativity,
No wonder the fans are feeling disconnected/ frustrated

We had Luke Oliver up front back in days. Centre Back playing Centre Forward.

Not, sure if you will remember Joe Cooke could play both positions to a good standard for the league
    BRE is not capable

And Andy Tod - think he scored a few in his early games up front.

And Andy Tod a little further back than that. There's been plenty of players who have made the switch but very few who have made it successfully. Paul Warhurst and Chris Sutton are the two that spring to mind though as successes.
