    The questioner last night (Jamie?) tried very hard to push Stuart on how long Novak would be out for and Stuart wasn't for giving anything away. Best he could get him to admit was it wasn't under 10 days.

    From what was described (calf muscle and some kind of low grade tear) I think he could miss most of November. Stuart did say the problem with these injuries is when they rush back they just end up being out for longer. It sounded a bit grim tbh.

    Guthrie's was a thigh injury I think? He didn't talk much about him from what I recall, Jamie was pushing more on Novak.

    That's because he knows that Guthrie is as useful to us when he is injured as he is when fit so pointless asking really.

    It’s been patently obvious since before the season started that the squad is an injury or suspension or two away from a big problem up front. The mystery is why the issue is still there. The ‘final piece in the jigsaw’ has sat on the bench whilst Guthrie has been on.

    I cant believe we've been left so short upfront but we could all see it was going to happen.
    How many strikers were we linked with in the summer. It's absolutey baffling that we have a 37 year old Donaldson and an inexperienced kid to lead the line for the next week.

    Although he should start in midfield but doesn't i would put Pritchard upfront if there is no other option. In the couple of games he played there last season he didn't do too bad.

    Novak is probably the best of a very very poor strike force and am not sure we know who our best front pairings are so yes neither will be missed
    Just two less balls in the hat to be drawn out for Saturday's starting line up
    Will probably be Clarke and Donaldson again
    God help us !!!

    Can he manage that without getting injured himself as he rarely looks fully fit.
