That’s what really concerns me atm. Personally I feel getting the right man in as CEO is the biggest, most important “signing” this club could make in years. Get it wrong and I really do worry where we will end up.

As things stand were a ship with no Captain.

I don't think we might have a 'long term' ....... issues need dealing with NOW or the club as we know it is doomed...

It's alarming how a former premier league central midfielder cant coach his current set of CMs to follow any defensive setup. A lot of our goals are coming from that area just having no awareness. Either the tactical coaching and 'who has the man' training isn't happening, or they are left to common sense and we have no voice in the spine of that side.

Harrogate goal, Watt and Sutton both look at their runner, neither close him down and he is free to tap it in.
Walsall, their player ran from the half way line past Cooke like he wasn't even there and leathered it in the corner.
Newport 1st, Watt and Cooke both see the man on the edge of the box, neither track him down, gives him a good 7 or 8 yards free space on the edge of the area to hit it.
Newport 2nd, zero shape in the back line and again, nobody tracking the movement from any area, not just the mids.
Bolton, comedy of errors caused by two failed Watt headed clearances.

It was so obvious we needed a defensive minded midfielder. Watt and Cooke have the ability on the ball but are far too often going missing at the back.

Salford and Mansfield both looking for managers. For anyone interested in the names linked to these L2 sides in case McCall gets the chop soon, theses are the ones linked on Sky Bet right now for out of work managers.

Salford job has guys like Roy Keane, Ritchie Wellens or Warren Joyce linked through club links but these are the out of work names. Paul Cook, Daniel Stendel, Danny Cowley & Steve Evans come in at under 25/1. A club probably willing to pay out a contract but also pay a boss a lot more than us.

Mansfield job has Flitcroft as the favourite for a return. But then guys like Simon Grayson (jesus wept), Graham Alexander, Sol Campbell, Nigel Clough, Keith Hill, Paul Hurst, Hasselbaink & Kevin Nolan all coming in under 12/1.

Reckon if he went, our favourites list would look a lot like the Mansfield managers odds list.

We’d get Graham Alexander if McCall quit. No chance of the Cowleys or Paul Cook.

    So a bit like:
    Liverpool - Fenway (USA)
    Leicester- Srivaddhanaprabha (Thailand)
Manchester City - Abu Dhabi Group. (Abu Dhabi)
    Manchester United - Glazer (USA)
    Chelsea - Abramovich (Russia/Israel)
    Arsenal - Kroenke (USA)

Seems like all the most successful clubs are run by owners, not resident in the UK!

I’m no fan of Julian Rhodes but I was told that he wanted McCall to bring in a striker as we are still well below the salary cap and the money is available but it was McCalls decision to keep with this squad and then wait till January. Bad call from Stu as January is the hardest time to bring in players.

No matter what reason I gave you would disagree I'd suggest I'm not far off with regards his latest appointment back in Feb.
We were the better of the two sides the second half unfortunatly we couldnt put our chances away the penalty was very poor, andmissing that was a lifeline for Bolton who at the time were very much under the cosh.

This is what we have become a club that couldnt compete with Salford City with regards a manager.

Then again very few in league two could.

Not surprised given the fact he has off loaded two high earning strikers and had brought in Guthrie and Novak presided over deals that gave Donaldson a further year. On top of that had given an injury prone midfielder Ismail an initial contract that gave him another year.

You clearly can't compare the operations of clubs like those with City, but it is perfectly possible for an investor based abroad to oversee a successful club, with the right staff on the ground, we clearly don't have that either on or off the field.

Once it went tits up with Rahic the only person Rupp knew who he could turn to was Rhodes and, in turn, the only manager Rhodes knew who he could turn to was McCall.

I just hope any new CEO has no links or emotional attachment to City and can operate accordingly, because we seem incapable of moving forward as a club.

Of the three Novak, Gutherie and Donaldson, Donaldson at 36 is the better of the three.
I'm with you after seeing all three last season up to the suspension of football he must have realised we needed a further option of pace, and right up to the deadline we didn't have that, now Samuels might come good let's hope he gets a run now Novak looks like being side lined for several weeks.
Not sure I'd have give Donaldson a 12 month extension but with Zeli's past stats he should never had the offer of a further 12 months.

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda....and if Bolton had someone who could finish we might have been 2/3/4 down before we even decided to turn up!

Has McClown fallen on his sword yet or is he still stealing a wave masquerading as a football manager?

I believe his reply was to this https://bantamtalk.com/index.php?threads/mccall-out-with-poll.4246/page-30#post-413969 although they may be extremes comparisons the point he was making is many clubs owners do live abroad, I believe Darragh MacAnthony is based offshore.
