You can forgive me for struggling to keep up.

I've spent years reading that we're a League Two side, not even a big League Two side, exactly where we should be historically - why do big crowds due to cheap ST's change that, they cry!

So I've accepted that, but at the same time have to accept that we should definitely be getting promoted because we need to be in a higher division?

Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it?

Tonight was a cup game, we've let ourselves down, we got hammered by a team from the division above, it wasn't acceptable. The end.

 

To be fair he looked furious at times and i expect a backlash from him. That was just unacceptable from every one. Hoping a one off but that team has glaring weaknesses that have not been addressed at all and Lincoln have been the first half decent team we have played and took full advantage.

 

Fair enough, I'm not saying wait until January to criticise, I'm just saying it's a little too early to write a club off in the league without a single league loss, and it's a little too early to organise flyovers when we can expect to finish at worst about 9th.

The club are actively saying they want to add a good striker - that could be make or break, but Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup isn't the end of Rupp's tenure, is it?

 

I’m done, at least with going to VP. I’m sleeping soundly with my decision not to buy an ST this season.

 

Immediate rhoughts on tonights game...

We are now a long way behind even mid table league 1 which frankly is appalling given where we were.
BRE, however 'good' he looked at the start of last season is nowhere near the standard required.
I think I am quicker than AOC ( I am 41 and have dodgy ankles!)
3 at the back does not suit us, it negates Connor Wood's threat as an overlapping fullback (which is one of, if not our only attacking threats) and we have nobody to play on as a right wing back.
Whatever the question is Dylan Mottley-Henry is not the answer.
Donaldson is done.
Creativity is a big issue.
The lack of pace in our side is almost as alarming as the the fact that no manager has noticed or addressed our lack of pace in the last 3 years.
And just in case nobody else has noticed (!) we need huge intervention upfront!!

I am usually someone who tries to pick the positives but it is becoming more and more difficult.

 

It said "Rupp and Rahic Out", and while there was a debate about whether it was right or not, that was my decision. The original idea came from Nick W, but I set up the crowdfunding for it.

After conceding two early goals tonight, the lads were triffic and stuck to it.

Yer, I know we gave away some sloppy goals early but listen we won't be playing the likes of mighty Lincoln every week.

It's a shame our two game unbeaten run ended tonight but with a bit more luck we might have got into their half a bit more

We've had two clean sheets in the last two games so we shouldn't be getting overly worried about this blip. We've got our 10 goals a season forward line to fire us back to a win in Saturday.

The lads tried hard, I hope everyone at home can see they ran around a lot. I'd be really disappointed if our fans got twittering about our mistakes tonight because we just came up against a class team here tonight and there's not much we can do about that.

 

Let’s face it - we are a total embarrassment of a club at the moment. We are so badly run it is embarrassing. No Ambition and no forward vision. We keep going back to our ex girlfriend for inspiration - but there is a reason for an Ex girlfriend - not good enough.

Forget promotion. We’re more likely to be embroiled in a relegation scrap than a promotion fight. You can do ok in League 2 as a side that doesn’t score many, if you’re dogged, organised and good at set pieces. We’re not. We have a soft underbelly in defence, and our set pieces in both boxes are a joke.

I’d genuinely stick Sikora in for A’OC at the weekend. He and BRE were atrocious tonight.

 

Guthrie was playing???? Did Stuart bring him on in the second half? Mist have missed it.

Just let that sink in.

We’ve lost to Portsmouth and Bristol City at home by similar margins but this, in my opinion, is the worst in recent living memory.

Looked OK V Colchester at the weekend.

 

I think a lot of the last few weeks frustrations and clear flaws were put on display tonight in that performance and people are annoyed about it. I think it’s been clear for a few weeks but either he powers that be can’t see it or are being told the squad is ok by Stuart? I don’t know which but that was so poor tonight

 

the problem is, at the start of every season fans are looking for something to give them optimism for the season ahead.. barring bringing in Watt and Sutton, the squad is made up of players that weren't good enough last season and is arguably weaker than last season's squad. we could all see with performances towards the end of the season that the players weren't good enough. what have the club done to rectify that?

all we have been fed for the past 6 months is how we are active, looking to improve the squad whilst also being told that we're well below the salary cap, that it's a buyer's market as there are over 1400 players out of contract. then the club changed stance and said that it's hard to work within the cap and that "we'll see what crops up."

it's not good enough from top to bottom and that includes Rhodes, Rupp and McCall. the aim of every transfer is to come out of it stronger than the previous one - we haven't and it's clear to see that we're now panicking.. and that's never a good place to be.
