Where a club is will come into it location wise. Why travel from London to Bradford for the same money I can get at Leyton orient? Why uproot my family for 1.5k a week?

The point you just made SOUNDS relevant, but who are these players that are currently coming up from the South coast because we don't currently have a salary cap in place?

 

All it means is any player has an offer nearby will take it. London based was just an example of that.
Why are you so sure players will come to us? Under a salary cap? We struggled to get our main targets in January and ended up with a load of shite. Same will happen this summer

 

Southern players don't often relocate full stop.

That's why our net includes anyone from the East Midlands and up with the occasional Scot.

The cap won't change that.

 

If you are a L1 or L2 player and a national league team (or foreign team) offers you double what you are making youd go there instead. This is going to cause harm to the quality of L2 + L1 football big style.

I don’t get this. Many people thought Doyle was underwhelming for us, so how can anyone be jealous of him signing for Bolton? Most of our fans couldn’t wait to see the back of him.

Watching L2 even L1 isn’t about seeing ‘quality’ football. If it was then crowds would be pretty much non existent!

 

The first part does have merit, hence my reply.

 

I'm just looking at it from a goals point of view. Who's to say in a McCall team he wouldn't have been better? Also I know we have enough strikers but Donaldson and Guthrie don't really fill me with much confidence. An exciting couple of goal scoring signings for me would be someone like Scott Quigley from Barrow and either Henderson from Rochdale or Pittman who's just been released.

 

McCall won't play with Donaldson and Vaughan together, doesn't suit his style.

 

We are useless with a larger budget than most so how do you think we’d do with a level playing field? Extremely poorly in my opinion.
There’s no cap in the National League, coupled with some clubs spending good money, so naturally we’d lose players to that league - similar with Scotland. Why would we give one of our advantages away? Bizarre way of thinking, almost defeatist.

 

A salary cap in League Two doesn't make National League clubs rich, and if players are so unambitious that they want to play non league football over league football it says a huge amount about the attitude of those players.

City fans need to understand there is no correlation between how we were performing under Rhodes and Lawn and how we performed under Rahic.
