    His take on it, "Other than the obvious mistake, I was happy with my performance. However, nobody will look at how I did, people will probably just talk about the error.

    "People won't look at the saves I made, but look, its part and parcel of football. Look at the Liverpool lad on Saturday. He made a couple of errors to lose the Champions League and I felt sorry for him.

    Am I the only person who doesn't give a crap about these meaningless friendlies? All I want is for Doyle to re-sign and then for Head Coach Abbott to sign a young and hungry keeper to keep Doyle on his toes.

    I'd prefer Abbot to sign a competent keeper and have Doyle as back up.
    No faith in Doyle at all.

    He is a decent enough keeper at this level, we've got other areas to focus on.

    My concern is that he hasn't already signed a new contract. I suspect we will be looking for a new keeper.

    Hasn't signed a contract, possibly because he doesn't know the coach he'll be playing under. Fair enough. Good on Riley for signing up without knowing...but then again "without knowing" might mean he's a bit in the dark about how our club works, unlike Doyle.
    Yet another reason for Edin and co to pull their fingers out. Knock on effect of losing a manager at the end/beginning of the season.
    Can't quite work out why it's taking so long....

    Fair play to him getting a call up, and Shay for NI. I'd like to think we'd keep him as it's one less position we have to replace and he is decent enough. He'll probably be off though, no doubt we have more top german goalies lined up.

    Doyle has gone on record as saying he wants to stay. His personal circumstances his family might mean he has to move

    Well, i just hope our replacement is at least a similar standard. Certainly going to be a busy place this summer. They will probably be looking already on the new gaffer's behalf.

    An interesting contractual incentive for Doyle could be we pay private tuition fees for his child, this could allow us to keep within the suggested wage budget but also increase what we pay him.

    At this level Doyle is good solid keeper. Look how much we missed him when he was injured last season. I for one hope he signs on again.
