With regards to development players getting game time, Barr, Patrick, Pybus, Grodowski and Hanson all got minutes in the league last year. The manager has been forced to use these poor players as the board haven't provided him with a squad of professionals to deal with injuries and suspensions. I'm not saying anyone explicitly said 'you must play x,y and z for x amount of minutes' but what does a threadbare squad imply?

And lastly, maybe shoestring wasn't a clear enough word, so maybe mid table is a better description? We all know for a fact that is what it is.

Going by the german transfermarkt page it is 3 central defenders,wing-backs,then 2 central midfielders,2 attacking midfielders and the poor sod up front on his own.
The relegation playoff team had 2 forwards-which would be much more to my liking.

I'm doing my best to rein the sarcasm in and am all ears to what "bob" sees in this young coach as the comments on the clubs home page are largely favourable.
With the delay in naming a head coach and this guy originally under contract for another year leads me to believe he was not anything like edin's first choice.
