Regardless of whether we make the playoffs this season or not, I think the signs are good for next season. As long as Rupp continues to back us I think McCall could create a real team in this division with a full pre-season to work with.

 

Mellor was much better today the lad that got sent off was a good player atvFleetwood and had done well there . city did the homework and had Reeves and Mellor marking him and did a good job

 

Thought the ref was terrible. Last thing the games need is a fussy idiot on a pitch where players are going to find it hard to stay balanced. Typical was the sending off - he marches around for 20s making the so called big decision. Get the red straight out of your pocket and send him off, instead of trying to be part of the play!!

Thought both sides were good, but we were better. Well done to McCall for obviously demanding that we start the second half on the front foot and we should have had three goals

I thought Donaldson's hold up play and sheer menace, never allowed them to settle - couldn't care less how many he misses, when he plays like that he's vital to our chances

Thought Radio Leeds United, were very harsh in their criticism about our play for 10 minutes. Yes they scored against 9 men in their only chance in that spell - they had nothing to lose and played that way in the second half. My only moan is that we should have converted some of those chances in the early part of the second half

 

I disagree - I can't remember any incidents this match that justifies this description. If anything Mellor ambles around aimlessly, when he's at his worse and then gets caught out of position.

Maybe it's because Henley looks worse. But actually out of all the defenders Mellor looks most comfortable coming forward

I've been a big critic of Mellor but if that was someone making his debut, we'd be pleased with their performance

 

Apparently Ryan Lowe tried to have a go at Connolly at the end of the match

 

My only moan is that we should have completely killed that game off in the second half with the chances created. To counter that, at least the chances were being created. Wasn't that long ago under Bowyer we struggled to create anything.

 

That’s two wins out of five for Stuart and we have cut the deficit to two points. We are now creating chances to miss which is better than not creating any at all. Stuart now presumably has a fair idea of his players. We’ve just beaten a high flying team. It’s nowhere near as bad as it was a few weeks ago. He should concentrate on his tactics, trying to play an elaborate passing game on that pitch was naive at best, stupidity at worst.

 

He went over to speak with the lino before making his decision. Good refereeing IMO.

Rest of the game he was poor but he always is.

 

I am not annoyed at anything. Mellor is not good enough for this club if we want to entertain the notion of promotion in the future. Along with quite a few others.

 

Yes Stuart went over and ushered Dylan away, as I said cant call the first until I see better quality video, but it was right in-front of us and it was a little reckless, although Connolly played the dying swan very well, the second was a stupid challenge for a player all ready on a yellow defiantly the long walk to the dressing room, Connolly today at times was unplayable and made his pace tell, when their left back ?, pushed him into that steel gate he never had a word said to him by Boyeson he could quite easily have been booked for that, it was uncalled for and could have been a serious indecent.

 

For what, tearing his fullback a new one?

Did anyone else feel the referee was a little bit... shit? But it seems his shittyness fell onto our side of the coin today.

He's always like that. Quite liked his foul against Reeves when he was the one with the ball and wasn't actually making a tackle.

 

Chances created against a team with fewer players chasing the game. There were gaps all over their defence but still couldn't score. Under Bowyer we'd have found a way to lose this though so at least we won.

 

We've been creating chances in every game, the finishing today was extremely poor at times, but we're scoring week in, week out under Stuart.

 

Of many questionable decisions (both ways), that was far and away the most bizarre.
