With a facetious response like that, I wish I hadn't asked the question now!

Don’t mean to sound stupid, but what happens at the end of the lease? Does Gibb’s pension fund still own it or do we regain ownership?

Are we legally tied into staying here until the lease is up?

At the end of the lease do we have an automatic option to buy back the ground? Who values the ground? An independent?

At the end he still owns it. There are options for us to extend at a fixed price but not to buy it back

At the end of the lease, the Gibbs personal pension fund owns it, not Gibbs himself. I assume that this is a financial device for tax purposes and if anything ‘adverse’ were to happen to his share of the business, the Pension fund would not be liable. I may well be wrong in this hypothesis, but it seems a reasonable position.

Splendid idea, I trust you'd be happy to invest your hard earned wedge into a non fixed term bond, non transferable, the interest on which is variable, at the discretion of the beneficiary, unsecured, and redeemable as and when the beneficiary decides they can afford it?
If so, I can offer better rates under the IB "One Born Every Minute" Bond.

No you're wrong. It is owned by the pension fund both now and at the end of the lease because the pension fund bought VP originally. It's raison d'être is to provide a revenue stream for the pension fund.

except that isn’t what is suggested in the article. It is a fixed rate, fixed term loan.

No I had assumed it was owned both now and after the end of the lease, by the Pension Fund. It will remain with them until sold. An asset separate from Flamingo Land and any other business interests that Gibb may have. In effect protected and compartmentalised.

The term isn't actually fixed nor is the rate. They are indicative as they are dependent on the ability of the Football Club to repay the Trust.
"Scheduled Redemption Date means the date provisionally scheduled for the redemption of a Bond"

yep because reading the T&C they have the option of redeeming them earlier, or you will not get paid if they don’t have the funds.

Not one for a serious investor but perhaps for fans to help the club and can afford to tie up money for their chosen period they seem to have a good start anyway
