Great job might be a stretch. Think he’s took the shackles off a bit and they are scoring more goals but only one win in 5. Hardly a team we should be fearing but way we are playing....

I understand the feeling and many myself included are in the same camp but looks at Rhodes history and he’s not going to pull the trigger until it gets impossible to get the play offs. Plus we have the new signings to play and if he’s left Bowyer spend money on them there is no way we sack him with Rhodes then having to spend more money on a replacement and paying up Bowyer.
It’s not his money I know but that’s the type of chairman he is. Sad thing is we get this right and sorted this week and get a decent manager in we could be in league one come august. But we miss the boat this time and who says the league is as poor next time?

 

It’s the total lack of collective effort when we go behind. Smacks of last season again. Everyone makes mistakes at this level at some point but we just crumbled and they were walking past us

 

He's going to regret it and look a right tosser when he's only managed to shift 8k STs (at most) for L2 football next season.

 

I did give a response earlier, what he is writing is poison there's no two way about it. I don't mind his constant bashing of Rhodes and Rupp, they are people with influence and call the shoos with the club and ultimately the penny drops with them.

What I don't approve is what he's writing about someone who is just doing his job and has absolutely no sway in some of the stuff the club is being criticised for. He's a normal working person, it just happens that his work place is Valley Parade. I mean calling to get rid of a PR man? For all the moaning about Twitter/Facebook campaigns, that's his job and from what I can see he's proactive about it. Does he really deserve the rubbish about him that's being posted?

I noticed an employee of the club said she was avoiding Twitter because some of the stuff that is being written. My point is it's very easy to sit on an internet forum and be critical but maybe have some thought about who you are directing it your vitriol towards.

 

Maybe JR is hoping to reduce ticket sales so Rupp sells cheaper?

By which point it's too late so why even bother? Always reactive, never proactive.

I was hoping he saved some money in the market to use to sack Bowyer.

 

Well I won't be buying my season ticket or investing in the club until Bowyer goes and I will think about if I will attend games.

We might have to vote with our feet and money now!

 

They can’t afford to sack him - but can they afford not to sack him.

 

We will have to wait to see what the statement says and try to read between the lines. It can hardly be a ringing endorsement. It will be all about damage limitation. I will be interested to know what it says, if anything, about the recent transfer activity - in and out.

 

The symbolic moment when all this started was ... when we signed Benito Carbone! We’ve been saddled with debt ever since. At the press confidence which members of the public were uniquely invited to attend a few journalists tried to ask how we could afford his then exhorbitant 40k a week. Geoffrey waved the questions away and everybody cheered. We were speculating beyond our means. Now all these years later we’re doing the reverse. Refusing to speculate at all. The consequences might actually be very similar.

How long have people been saying "oh give him [insert this many games] to get [insert amount of points]" and he's failed to do so. How about 0 points from Mansfield and Oldham and Crawley? No win from Carlisle, Orient, Crawley, Mansfield, Scunthorpe, Oldham - scraping a win against Morecambe with one shot.

12 shots on target in 8 games. Oldham had 9 shots on target in ONE game against us, we had one against them. Mansfield had 7 against us, we had 0.

3 shots on target against Scunthorpe to their 8, AT HOME. 37% possession!

We had one shot against bottom of the league Morecambe, at home, to their 3.

He's had enough time and enough games to prove himself. 3 wins in the last 18. Get him gone.
