I think you will find Gary Rowett is managing Millwall in the Championship and Sol Campbell is at Southend.

    He's shite.

Its sad our fans are living in the past. No wonder our club is stuck in the 80s.

And yes there's an undertone. Again a section of our fans using the fire to beat the club/owner with.

Long term stuart isn't the answer. We need a young manager with fresh, attacking ideas, part of a long term plan which has to come from the board.

However, stuart until the end of the season or keep Bowyer? No dilemma for me there, he'd at least have the team on the front foot every week that's for sure. Plus he'd bring a general positive attitude back to the club and get fans going back to games and in the process we may sell a few more STs on the back of it.

Like I said earlier, its damage limitation for the board now. Keep bowyer and let him drive more fans away. Or sack him and replace him with a manager who wants to entertain the fans and get a feel good factor back at VP.

Stuart is a perfect shoe in to the end of the season, others have come in and tried and failed just look at last season and before Grayson, Collins, Hopkin, Bowyer, 4 piss poor appointments.

but if only to the summer, we then have to start all over again. it's not an easy situation or one that is simply solved.

Nathan jones would be my choice ,he did a brilliant job at Luton and knows what it takes to get out of this league. Bring him in now to steady the ship and if we miss out on the playoffs he can rebuild for next season.

The revamp this club needs can't be done right now. An appointment like stuart makes perfect sense to the end of the season just to get the feel good factor back.

at luton he had mick harford as a sounding board and someone who knew luton through and through to help him, at stoke he struggled without that. if he would consider it, he might not be a bad shout but personally i think he'll see himself as having completed his apprenticeship in the lower leagues. then again - everyone has bills to pay.

so when is it done? if there was to be a change, the person that does come in would need some time to adjust, assess the current situation, what is and isn't available to him, make decisions on the pre-season structure, where the investment needs to be (if any, for example the pitch) and the needs to best go forward.

that can't be done at the start of pre-season, it has to be done months before pre-season even begins so we can hit the ground running. last thing we need is a short-term appointment, change managers again in may / june for him to then have to decide on what he does and doesn't want. we'd be starting behind every other club in the league in terms of preparation, again. then 6months into the season it'll be looking precarious and we'll be in the same position we are now... again.

if mccall wants to be a short-term appointment to get all that in place whilst in discussions with the prospective new manager / coach and then move upstairs in a sporting director capacity then maybe - but he's not that type of man to be happy with that and i doubt we have the finances for that.

No surprise there's no ambition in the club when we have fans wanting McCall everytime there's a vacancy Jesus Christ this club is stuck in groundhog day. We need a Messiah McCall isn't, wasn't and won't be move on lads
Jesus it's not even fair on Stuart either.

If nostalgia won games we would be right up Liverpool's arse

It's nothing to do with emotion, it's common sense. When he was in this division before he was very new to management, whereas his last stint in the job he had wised up and new what he wanted from players.
You can see from all the comments on here that the fans need reuniting to start with plus the players need a lift, if you look at them individually they are far better than this.
I have got to admit that I thought that Bowyer was the answer long term but I was wrong, he is far too negative and talks the opposition up far too much instead of letting them worry about us.
We should be pressing the opposition higher up the pitch and then dictating play to them. Some of the players confidence looks shot out. Even if only shot term Stuart would pick them up. We need to salvage something from this mess we are in.

We dont choose ' short term ', we never do. We would prefer long term all day long but circumstances prevail. Theres no way on earth GB should remain in charge when you look at his results. I'd take SM to guide us to promotion in a breath compared to the alternative forced upon us. In 50 years supporting City I've never seen a clearer case for sacking a manager.
