He's probably just answering a question from the press. They (managers) always say stuff like that when asked.

However, Wellens seemed quite sure that we'd have one of our loans staying on which would mean him Yates or Doyle so, if Yates is going, then...

It could be one of the other loanees (Benda and DJ), but that's not the impression I get.

How many loan players do you have playing regular football with Swindon ?.

Benda, Grant, Yates and Doyle are all first teamers on loan. Jaiyesemi is a rotational player. We have used the loan system quite well, but it obviously comes with its drawbacks. Be an interesting month ahead.

    100% mate it's all banter..

Look, for me Bradford City made a massive mistake loaning in out to Swindon! It was huge!

I noiced yesterday that Swindon are in the top 10 for total points in 2019 or something like that. It like we didn't do our homework on the league and just looked at the books. Swindon were always going to be in the top 7 this season.

I have said Bradford City need more footballing men around the club at board level as transfer never happens and it's no shock Bowyer didn't want it to happen. It was stupid!

Doyle was our leading goalscorer in div 1 and we shouldn't of loaned him to you all. Not many loans are done between same clubs in a division and this is one of the reasons why.

However, Doyle has done better than we all thought but for some of you are coming on here and not saying how it really.

Power fooled the club with the begging bowl but we won't get done like that again.

It's like some of you come here thinking we should give him to you all for free. Madness.

Stop trying to mug us off! Just say yes if we want him we need to pay the asking price or he goes back. Don't make out you will replace a player who has scored 65% of your goals with ease as you won't.

If Doyle comes back we go up automatically!
If Doyle stays at Swindon then you go up automatically! It's a big decision!

Wellens has said Grant will be made a perm - IMO probably more important that Doyle. Benda and DJ will be with us for the season.

Now, he also said there is a verbal agreement that one of Doyle or Yates will also see out the season on loan. Both similar positions re contracts. Yates is also OOC in June as is Doyle.

I expect that to be Yates. Apparently all the jabbering re Doyle has been done and it’s down to Bradford to make a decision before next Tuesday/Wednesday.

Paint it as much as you like. He was a flop last season and scoring 11 goals (7 from open play) doesn’t disguise that. Admittedly there were extenuating circumstances such as having to babysit Brunker et al, but let’s not pretend he had a decent season

Fordy. The font of all knowledge.

The decision has been made. Just waiting to get the game tomorrow out of the way.

In terms of goals he did.

As I say the top league scorer got 25.

Not one player last season I would say was outstanding but hey AOC is proving his worth now and like it or not with 23 goals this season I think Doyle has.

You working in a toxic environment and enjoy going into work. We can test it. Come work for me and I will make your life hell then see if you can do your job at the highest level.

Yates was loaned out in L2 last year wasn’t he? Carlisle, if memory serves?

If so I’d be surprised if Warne recalled him now when he’s seemingly out of their plans. He froze David Ball out when he was on loan here last year - a decision that baffled some of their fans!

    Absolutely spot on Neil.

Sh1te Tactics by manager/ Played out of position/ Lone Striker

Call it what you want but he just didn't gel with the team. His confidence must have been shot, and it showed.

For some reason we never saw what he has been offering at Swindon. A healthy and regular goal tally

Instead with us he was very average and scoring only mainly from penalties

Sometimes you need a fresh start and to be fair it's what Doyle needed

I really don't think we will get promotion this year with Bowyer in charge.

We've been poor and lucky with some results.

Bringing Doyle back wont work. Get the best fee for him and move on to the next striker to help us get to the play offs

That's football. Some you win, some you lose

We haven’t been lucky at all. We are where we are on merit.

I do think we’ll get beat tomorrow but we are every bit playoff material (at least) due to the recent defensive effort.

It’s irrespective as to how many goals he has, coming back to City will not yield the same return. So Rhodes/Rupp have to consider whether bringing him back to struggle again or taking a cash fee (£100k) on top of the salary savings we’d have. Not sure why either would need to clear their desk making that decision

Defense is great but goals win games,

We just don't have the strength up front and Bowyer's crap tactics don't help

We will end up mid table or just out of the play offs.

Its about the ratio. You don’t need to score 3-4 if you concede as few as we do (ala Parkinson).

Doyle has been liking a large number of Swindon related posts on twitter since the Plymouth game. A quick scroll though his 'likes' shows this is actually quite out of character for him, despite being very active on the platform he doesn't usually interact much with Swindon content. Probably means nothing but thought it was worth pointing out anyway.
