it was you that suggested bringing him back straight away before making a decision. So if you are saying we should keep him then yes calling him back now. If we haven’t decided leave him there until we do decide.

Fair enough, thanks for clearing that up. I think we may have crossed wires somewhere. I’ve not advocated the club bringing him back if they don’t want him. If Bowyer wants him then for me he should already be back. As the transfer window ticks down and Swindon don’t have their talisman, their desperation gets bigger.

Bowyer then has a call to make as to whether to cash in before the the window ends or not.

Sorry I did not make this more clear originally

If it was any other club in the country who were struggling for goals and had a player on 23 in the same division, they'd recall him. Should be a no brainer but unfortunately I think Swindon will get him for a bargain £100k.

Because apparently there is a non disclosure agreement in the contract.

I bet there has. Just not disclosed to us mere mortals.

I still can’t see what discussions are needed if you are going to recall him. There’s nothing to discuss - you just tell him and Swindon you’re recalling him. End of.

nearly 32 with 6 months on his contract. If we get his wages off of bill and 100k we’ve done well imo

You forget, him been on our books would cost us around £100K. Big outlay for a player that doesn't want to play for us and can endanger team spirit, when you're considering we're doing OK without him

Not certain we could keep more vital loanees like Connolly either

Financial gamble too far for me. I'm happy that Donaldson and an improving Oteh, together with the likes of Davitt, Pritchard, can get us over the line

Ok, Bradford City are not foolish enough to do a deal the same week as we play you.

As for what is to discuss? Loads

    1) Do we recall him
    2) When do we recall him
    3) Can Swindon afford to pay all his wages
    4) Can Swindon afford to buy him
    5) Even though he can't play for anyone else this season barring Swindon and Bradford does any other club want to buy him now then loan him back.
    6) Doyle comes back we go up automatically
    7) Do we do what Sheff Utd did to us with Hanson and weaken Swindon by taking him back.
    8) Do we take Yates from Rotherham and take Doyle back.
    8) Do we look like mugs if we sell him now
    9) The long term future of the club and its outlook
    10) The manager and player power.

Please understand from a business point of view we hold the card and we don't have to be in a rush.

I understand you're desperate for him but if Power is acting like you then that 200-250k I would be asking would be going up by 100k every 2 week.

Every time Doyle scores the interest in him goes up.

I admitted I doubted @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler (sorry mate) when she said about point 5 but he could be right. Other teams might just want to sign him now instead of waiting until the summer.

So, I would suggest you get ready for us Bradford Fans on Saturday and relax. I might drive my Merc down just for you. Nothing on the Doyle situation will happen until maybe next week.

Swindon fan here. I've signed up to give you my opinion on Eoin Doyle.

Let's start with the player. He can't dribble, struggles to hold the ball up, isn't very quick, not great in the air and has a very average passing range. Plenty of times this season, having Doyle in the side is almost like playing with 10 men. What he excels at though, is fantastic off the ball movement and a knack of knowing where the ball will drop. He only needs half a yard, one chance and it's a goal. It's the hardest thing to do in football and it's why strikers cost the most money.

So why does Doyle suit us? I actually think it's pretty simple. We have enough technicians and ball playing defenders to build up play without needing to use Doyle. Lots of strikers at this level need to drop deep as an outlet or run channels to help their team but our style of play means he constantly stay on the shoulder and wait for that one chance. From what i understand, he wouldn't be used in this way at Bradford, unless you completely change your style of play. Wellens knows Doyle better than anybody and what his limitations are. So why try and get him doing things he isn't good at?

You could almost say Doyle is a bit of a luxury player. If he isn't scoring, what else is he contributing? probably not a lot, hence your frustration with him in your relegation season. When you have somebody as prolific as him though, you need to find a way to make it work. In Bowyers defence, it wasn't his signing, and he's obviously got his own way he wants to play. Your fans might not like it, but there's more than one way of getting out of a league. Being hard to beat and not conceding many goals is a decent platform to build on. I think you'll improve going forward and fancy you to finish in the top 4.

In regards to the loan situation, i think it would be a massive risk for you to recall him. He's made it quite clear where he wants to be, and whilst i'm sure he'd behave professionally, what message does it give to the rest of your squad if somebody who doesn't even want to be there is starting ahead of them? Would he even be a success for you? absolutely not, unless you drastically change the way you play. You'd also have to free up a bit of money and it all starts becoming a bit of a mess.

Let's hope one way or another a decision is made after Saturday. I'm actually dreading the game. Your away style is exactly the type we struggle against. Teams that sit deep and are compact give us a lot of trouble. We also have no fit centre backs and a couple of players struggling with fitness. A draw from my perspective wouldn't be the end of the world considering our current situation. How many are you bringing down? hopefully it's a good crowd and decent atmosphere.

Welcome.. love how desperate you Swindon fans are.

Ok, let's me remind you Doyle was our leading goalscorer in Div 1 and he scored goals for us.

The main difference between Swindon and Bradford is you get bodies in the box and Doyle's best work is in the box.

Take Doyle out of your team and your team is nothing and Doyle's goals highlight that.

We're in no rush to make a decision on Doyle. We hold the cards mate.. you guys need to prove you've the money!

As for us we need to decide if we want to recall him and weaken Swindon. We're not a charity!
