As I interpreted that too. Described as the primary drainage system - which has spent it's 20 year cycle. And yet - I thought it was the decrepit MAIN drains that were the issue ?
In which case JM discussed it would mean a cost in excess of £1m (Demolishing part of the office block) ? Anyone else recall that ??

 

Funny enough we have miles more things to worry about than the pitch.

Back in December that wasn't the case. Now boy we sure do.

The PITCH is actually one of the MAIN things to worry about.
I agree - we have many issues, but it's not for you or I to decide which is most crucial ............. Though the RIGHT Manager is high on our lists, !

 

Could never understand why we would need to demolish the office block. Knock the wall down between the office and the main stand, remove the seats from the sunwin A block and you can drive anything down the slope. 20-30 grand at business rates at the most for that including reinstalling the seats and rebuilding the wall.

 

It'll have to be a big fecking drain to be able to flush Patrick.

 

We had a break for 12 weeks from January too. We probably could have done it then.

Agree Onside, we have or get what we can afford.

However.....you shouldn't buy a supposedly high performance car and try getting the best out of it in a muddy field. You would surely ensure that to enjoy driving it at the peak of its capabilities , you provide or find the optimum surface for it to run on.

This is a perfect case of where the owners should invest fully in the infrastructure of the club without detriment to the playing budget.

It hardly needs to be said that a football pitch is fundamental to a football club and our owners do have the financial resources to easily afford this.

Better players and a good manager are rightly the focus but they are severely compromised by a poor playing surface.

 

Reminds me a bit of Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics when they painted the grass green!
Or years ago when I "Fixed" my Mini Metro's corroded subframe by painting loads of underseal over the top of it.

Neither of these were very effective. I hope this latest work on our pitch drainage is more miraculous.

Summary: "Remove mud/grass. Dig Hole & put pipes in refill with hardcore, top with topsoil stuff. Lay new turf (plus miracle grow) new grass grows. City promoted to Premiership.

 

Oh dear, the club doing something they promised to do. What are the moaners going to whinge about today

 

Pitch looks to have improved already!!

 

If they keep it like that we could play at an all new level .

 

Very little else happening ?.

 

Edin asked for trenches to be put in as next season could turn into a warzone if things don't go right.

 

Me too. Would love to see some photos of what this so called poor drainage looks like!
