Transfer Rumours 2019/20

Think it just hinges on who stays and goes. I'd get rid of a few;

Akpan
Riley
O'Connor

Can all go for me, midfield needs a bit of work, I'd say 1 or 2 strong CM's needed if Reeves will be fine for the season. Left winger is also needed, but we're apparently working on one which is nice to see. I'd keep Doyle, Scannell and ROD, however I'd imagine Scannell is taking up a large chunk of the wage and can we afford him with a terrible injury record. We're stuck with Patrick as well.

 

I understand three offers are in the pipeline ........ A Forward, and two MF(No names mentioned), these things take time.
So a little patience please.

 

I can see Omari going back out on loan, unless he shows something in pre-season that gives GB optimism. He’s got pace, if nothing else and we could do with that.

If Vaughan doesn’t sign or Doyle leaves, GB will maybe wait to see who’s available on loan from PL/Championship.

Don’t know if Mark Cullen is still without a club. Think he’d be a decent shout given his GB connections. I know we didn’t play to Doyle’s strengths last season but for me, he’s still tarnished with the same shit stick as the rest of last season’s team, so I’m not that fussed if he does leave.

 

I'd be very surprised if either of the bottom two make a significant contribution this season.

Anderson possibly has the ability to but we've certainly not seen it as yet so he still has a huge amount of improving to do.

 

Don't we have Wood as cover for left back?

Assuming he is still here I'd want an experienced Cente half (if we can unload O'Connor), two decent centre midfielders (although we have numbers in there the quality is poor), a left winger and hopefully resolve the Robinson situation. Finally a Striker with pace (two if Doyle leaves).

These could either be permanent or on loan but I think that would fill the squad nicely.

Hopefully in the other direction could be A O'C, Riley and maybe Akpan.

If AOC leaves, we need another centre half, hopefully a big horrible experienced stopper

Although we have numbers in there, midfield looks weak, need a scrapping ball winner, and a creative one too

We need a left winger

We need at least 2 strikers if Doyles leaves, hopefully Vaughan, and somebody else with a bit of pace

Would like to see us shift Riley, Akpan, AOC and Patrick

What time are we all calling this then if it happens today? Early morning signing? mid afternoon or an evening one to keep us all waiting? Or not happening at all? I'll take a wild guess and say Vaughan got back from hols last night and signing mid afternoon when he gets over jet lag... total guess

 

No idea m8 but i trust the Cows Arse info. They've been right with the signings so far for this season.

 

yeah me too, someone called them out this morning saying something on the lines of imagine if they got it wrong. All they said were they wouldn't be bothered but feel pretty relaxed about it. I'd suspect if he was to sign it would be today seen as pre season starts Monday and GB wants a few in early to gel.

 

We regularly get called out for one thing or another, doesn't bother us. We seem to be getting decent info and i quite like a bit of leakage. Gets the fans talking and discussing all things City.

 

More leaks than a sieve this year, someone's been naughty somewhere!

 

Fingers crossed Vaughan signing is confirmed today - I'm guessing a lunchtime reveal. Assuming we retain Doyle then we have a strong attack for League 2.

Agree with the majority view that central midfield needs a lot more work, however, I think Akpan should be retained. Like the majority of the squad last season he was let down by poor management - an amaiture approach to pre-season with extremely poor focus on fitness.

He's proven his ability at this level before and higher so if we get him back to his best we have a very good midfielder on our hands.
